“Great location but dine out”

Reception was a little slow (only ever 1 desk open) but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We dined in the bar and the food was nice but a little expensive. (£11 for a glass of red wine!) We were there for a conference and so had breakfast and lunch which were fairly average. Note if you book through the hotel breakfast is £14 but as we booked through Expedia it was only £9. Also about 40% cheaper booking a room through Expedia than directly with hotel which we thought odd. Location is great for central Sheffield and the rooms were very nice, comfortable and quiet.

“Okay - needs better standards”

Central and okay - obnoxious staff (male duty manager) on welcome desk - and black mould in bathroom floor avoid room 136 broken ac. Faint Dryed blood stains on bed sheets -

We had a room with double and single bed. It was very clean - couldn't fault that. I felt it was in a rather run down and ugly location - wouldn't ever return to that area of Sheffield. We had a room with double and single bed. It was very clean - couldn't fault that. I felt it was in a rather run down and ugly location - wouldn't ever return to that area of Sheffield. The view from our window was terrible - made area look derelict. So many things in the room were dated and chipped, including paintwork and had seen better days. The aircon simply did not work despite three of us trying. Fortunately, the window opened, though even with it open, the room remained very stuffy and too warm overnight. The cistern in the loo had a problem and was constantly refilling meaning you were unable to flush. The fan in the bathroom was extremely loud despite being tiny. The noiseproofing seemed non-existent. You could hear every single sound in the corridor even though door was closed. The member of staff who checked us in spoke so quietly, you had to ask her to repeat every thing she said. Why did she whisper?! And finally, no biscuits provided with tea and coffee!😊 We paid £179 for one night. Bad value for money.
