What can I say? Superb and lovely old grade 1 listed building. Happy chatty efficient lady on reception, sorry forgot your name! Comfy bar room with nice furnishings, had a young lad help us up to our room. The room was a nice size, clean comfy bed. Room staff did knock to refresh our room but only needed them once. Tea coffee milk kettle big bottle of water. Wardrobe, hair dryer, plenty of plugs. Parking was no problem. We ate in the restaurant 2 evenings and all I can say is the chef whom we met is simply a magician!! Every aspect of his food was 5 star quality I had a pork chop first night with fresh veg and beautiful creamy mash, my wife said id gone quiet? I did i was savouring food heaven! Wife had chicken and said it was amazing! Honestly the chef said to me its a vocation for hom not just a job, and it shows! Best food I've had in many years!!! Also its so well priced! The waiter, dont know your name, was fast happy, efficient and knew his stuff, smiling and chatting to us very nice fella! More than pleased with our 3 day stay and we will deffo stay here again when we go down for a break. We'll done one and all your the best!!! Robin & Linda Williams Cotswolds.

Nice hotel. Clean, spacious, water pressure good. We had a quiet room. Nice to have windows that opened - a rarity these days so we could let fresh air in. Breakfast was a let down, undercooked bacon and tomatoes, bacon look anaemic, had to pay £2 extra for the salmon and scrambled eggs, which we felt was cheeky. Never had that happen before. Would we stay again? Yes.

We booked the hotel for one night with breakfast. Managed to park our car easily, but when busy, I would imagine you would struggle. First come first served and leave it there. We booked the hotel for one night with breakfast. Managed to park our car easily, but when busy, I would imagine you would struggle. First come first served and leave it there. We had a standard double room. The room seemed too small for the amount of furniture. I understand some people may want a chair to watch the world go by, but having 2 chairs seemed a bit much. We moved the chair by the door when we were in the room. So out of the way. There was a wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a dressing table, the mirror was a little too high when sat there, so a bit of a waste. Although there was plenty of furniture it all seemed a bit cluttered when the tea and coffee making things were there. The bathroom was small, corner shower and a corner sink a bit awkward, opening the door when someone stood at the sink. There was soap bar and shower gel supplied. Hairdryer in set of drawers. The room was cosy, it wasnt plush or modern. The carpet was almost what I used to see in my grans house, like an Axminster pattern. However, the room was clean, just cramped with furniture. The hotel is quirky, sloping steps, if you have mobility issues you may need a ground floor room. The drawing room was lovely, beautiful mirrors and light and airy. The reading room was cosy. The bar was bright and had a lovely clock, a bottle of local beer was £6. Breakfast was in a bright room. Nice compact selection of cooked items, fruit and cereal. The breakfast was very good and the waitress extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

A traditioal seaside hotel with the bonus of being in a lovely historic building and in great location. I can understand why people make return visits as he staff are welcoming and the hotel has a familiar, old school feel. The accommodation was very clean but the standard room was small and lacked anywhere to put things. Perhaps mounting TV and mirror on wall would free up flat surfaces for practical use of room. There were few electrical sockets and none by the bed so phone charging and use of required medical CPAP equpment tricky( we carry extension lead and adapters just in case and they were needed). Bathroom was immaculate but very dated and not great water pressure. Double bed was quite comfy but rocked and wobbled a bit every time you rolled over! Breakfast was fresh but unexciting...I expected some nice breads ,croissants or pastries not just sliced bread toast(again a bit dated, felt like 1970s but people seem to love it...why change if the rooms are full?!) This was fine for one night.
