I just want to say, my friend and i visited the Vincent hotel just for a coffee yesterday, we sat outside. A lovely well dressed gentleman approached us as he could see we were a little cold. There are blankets available should you need one. But this gentleman named John promptly put the heaters on that were on the wall over our heads. Thankyou kind Sir!

Probably more of a 3.5 as it would be unfair to describe the hotel as "average", but a handful of minor issues left a bit of a sour taste. We arrived at what is a very beautiful hotel and were welcomed by pleasant staff and an efficient valet service. We were moved to a different room, which was said to be an upgrade, and it did have lovely views. However, there was a relentless flashing light in the bathroom which I raised after checking in. It wasn't a major issue and probably just needed a new bulb, but it was still flashing when we left and became increasingly irritating over the course of our stay. We went for dinner in the restaurant, which was very nice. The food was outstanding and compliments to the chef, as the dishes we had were faultless. I was a little surprised by the bill (£140 for two mains, two sides, a bottle of prosecco and a couple of cocktails), particularly as I only glanced at it while signing and it wasn't properly presented to me. That said, the quality of the food itself could not be faulted. The biggest issue came when we went to bed. I am writing this having had less than three hours' sleep. Southport is not a vibrant city (despite the claim I noticed in a previous response to a guest who raised this issue), and I have stayed in major cities all over the world. This was easily the noisiest, rowdiest night I have ever encountered. There were sirens, booming music, screaming and shouting throughout the night. I even called reception at nearly 3am and was told the clubs closed around 3am, possibly as late as 5.30am. None of this is the hotel's fault, but it genuinely felt as though we were staying in a nightclub. Between the flashing bathroom light and the constant thud of bass, sleep was almost impossible. The clubs did indeed close around 3am, but that was followed by nearly two hours of shouting, arguments and drunken revellers gathering at the taxi rank across the road. The windows did very little to block out the noise. Given the location, some noise is to be expected, but the level of disturbance was far beyond anything I have experienced in much larger cities including London, Manchester and Paris. Reception kindly offered to move us to another room, but at 3am it seemed impractical given the disruption and the fact dawn was not far away. Morning came and breakfast was excellent. The food was very tasty and the team were kind and helpful. The receptionist and valet were also friendly when we left, but what surprised me was that nobody asked how our stay had been. That always stands out to me. A final goodbye without even a passing interest in whether a guest was satisfied, disappointed or somewhere in between feels like a missed opportunity. It's a shame, because there are plenty of positives here and most of the issues I encountered are relatively easy fixes. However, for anyone considering this hotel on a Saturday night, I would strongly recommend bringing earplugs. One final point: I've noticed responses from the GM suggesting some negative reviews may not be genuine. I have no axe to grind, travelled from Wales specifically to visit, and have tried to provide a fair and balanced account of my experience.
