“A REALLY GOOD COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY IN STAINES WITH CAR PARKING AND WONDERFUL BREAKFAST”

Stayed here for one night as needed a comfortable base near to London. Would really recommend. Quiet road, easy access from Staines, very helpful reception, very comfortable clean room with 2 showers and fluffy towels. Fantastic breakfast.

Well positioned by the river Thames, the hotel has a nice large onsite car park. A strong smell of Indian food was evident both in our room and on entry to the building, the over bath shower was efficient but the surface very slippery when wet, the cooked breakfast was plentiful but oily.

I would stay here again if we were in the area and overall it was a fairly pleasant stay; convenient for visiting family nearby. The executive room with king-size bed was spacious with a separate seating area and a television in both areas. It was clean and in relatively good decor aside from some water stains on the ceiling in the bedroom area where there must have been a leak in the past. It had everything you needed. A good size comfortable bed and bedding, box of tissues, an iron and ironing board, a long mirror as well as a dressing table one, a safe, a fridge and a hairdryer. The bathroom was compact but clean and well thought out with a bath and powerful overhead shower. The grout was immaculate. The toiletries were from the White company. Towels white and in good condition. I liked the references to Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn and the bedroom and bar area downstairs and although we didn't use, the bar area looked very welcoming. The breakfast was quite basic, but plentiful and the perculated coffee was not bitter. However our omelettes were overcooked, my husband got cheese and tomato instead of tomato and onion which he asked for and the toast was a bit burnt. I would have given a higher score but unfortunately it was just lack of general maintenance and the breakfast that let it down. E.G. I couldn't understand why the room was so cold and I'm usually a hot person. It was not until the morning that we discovered that the main window by the bed doesn't shut completely as there is no clip for the latch on the handle to lock into! 2 of the lamps in the bedroom didn't work so I had to ask for new lightbulbs (the room has quite dark decor so we did need them and also to be able read in bed at night). The person when I asked for new bulbs questioned if I had turned them on properly and had to come and test them himself before he would believe me! The mirror in the bathroom was meant to light up but didn't work. The aforementioned water stains on the ceiling. The blind on the small window was broken so you couldn't raise it and the blind in a ceiling window which would have let in some welcome light look damaged so I didn't dare try and open it. The coffee supplied in the bedroom was only 2 sachets and 3 teabags with 4 small cartons of milk. If the maintenance issues were resolved and the breakfast was a bit better I would score this a 10/10.
