“Great service, great hotel”

Great stay yet again. Can't fault the location of the hotel and of course the staff . Have stayed many time here and its always consistent. Have to mention Pauline and Michelle in the restaurant for breakfast, always smiling, nothing too much bother and always the same ...great service.

bedroom - fine though guidance on the heating system - rather than just symbols would be helpful. the shower was low power and with a very basic shower head - wifi a bit confusing - bed was good reception - undermanned - fine when you got help - the noise and chaos in the social areas was immense… more

“Substandard Cleaning / Inadequate Room Temperature”

First impressions of this hotel were promising, the location adjacent to main railway station was perfect. The hotel itself was modern, bright, spacious and airy. The check-in was professional, friendly and attentive. The foyer, bar and resturant areas appeared clean and fresh. The bed was really comfortable. Two lifts in situ were working well, and were fast. No waiting around. Security to the rooms was to a high standard. Unfortunately, the heating system was poor, it failed to gain adequate heat temperature in the room, I predict the condenser or air vent needs cleaning out hence the lack of heat, maintenance needs to pay close attention to this room 507. Housekeeping needs to up there game, there was a constant smell in the room, it was not drains it was more likely dirty water or unclean rags used to wipe down the surfaces as smell is common if rags are not clean as the fabric fibres ingest odours. Furthermore a sweaty sock from a previous guest had been left by the window. The standard of cleanliness is paramount in hotel rooms, this hotels standards are well below par. The breakfast offering was as expected, replenished and tasted delicious. In conclusion, an average score is warranted until the heating and cleanliness issues are addressed by management.
