I have visited this hotel many times over the years like going back to my Dad's 60th party over 30 years ago right up to an 80th a couple of years back. The function rooms are good. Can't comment on the accomodation. We ordered a Too Good To Go breakfast this morning for £2.99. My Son went to collect. He said the woman on reception was miserable (hence the loss of one star) He said the Chef was lovely to him and went to freshly plate up the breakfast bits off the buffet. We actually had 2 boxes which served 2 of us. No pastries but we were happy with the amount and quality we recieved. Will definitely be back to try the offer again 😘

“Lovely welcome and comfortable stay”

We stayed for 2 nights booked via Expedia. We knew it was reasonably close to Alton Towers and family friendly. We had a lovely stay the breakfast was excellent and room.

Stayed here for one night (Saturday to Sunday) as we had a rehearsal in Stoke on the Sunday. All the staff were really friendly, and although there were a few things wrong (phone not working, restaurant menu limited and even then there were a few options missing etc.), everything was taken in a friendly and humorous manner and sorted as quickly as possible. The room was a bit on the small side, but clean and functional. The restaurant was busy, but the choice wasn't great - nevertheless they accommodated a few food swaps (broccoli and beans instead of salad etc.) and it actually tasted OK. It's not luxury, but satisfactory if you don't want to drive anywhere when you've landed at the hotel after a long trip. Slept OK and shower worked, perhaps a bit steamy in the bathroom and the water pressure could be better. Breakfast the next morning offered a good choice and tasted OK (again not fantastic but I definitely have had worse). The hotel features a small swimming pool/spa which is free for guests too. A nice bonus. Can hear the motorway noise a bit but when the windows are closed it's not noticeable. All in all OK for a quick overnight stay.

We stayed 2 nights at this Holiday Inn and it was adequate for a short stay when we were out and about all day. Although the room, the bathroom and the linen were all very clean, the hotel itself is quite basic. However, I want to give a huge shout out to the staff who were all really friendly and extremely helpful. Special mention to Victoria at breakfast and Sarah on the front desk. But here’s a bizarre thing. Our bathroom extractor fan was clearly not working and there’s a sticker on the mirror asking you to keep the bathroom door shut as the steam sets off the fire alarms. This of course creates a Turkish bath type situation in the bathroom. When I reported this to the front desk they said that none of the extractors in the whole hotel work!!
