Stayed at the welcombe hotel for a late mothers day trip, absolutely loved it. we stayed here around 15 years ago when it was owned by a different hotel group and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We enjoyed this hotel second time round. Beautiful building and plenty of parking. The room was amazing, we had a executive room with a good view of the gardens and landscape. The room was clean and tidy, only issue we had was with the TV which kept on freezing so we had reception change over the remote which seemed to work, As we were only there for a few days we did not have the rooms cleaned so reception gave us a free drinks voucher which was well received. The staff were great, big shout out to Ellie, Hal who served our meals and drinks and were lovely to chat to, Alison and Sarah on reception and the bar staff. You are all a credit to the hotel. The only issue we had was with the food, I think they had a different chef due to annual leave as the food we had was not the best, do not choose the belly pork this was full of fat only! not very nice and the choice of food was very limited ( they need to review the menu and give more choice) The spa was amazing and we had a great chilled time in the pool and jacuzzi. Stratford itself is lovely and we visited many places. I would return again to this hotel and would only go for the executive room again for the views and ambience. Thanks again to all the staff who made our stay so comfortable and wonderful we will be returning again in 6 month Hal! Look forward to it. xx

Overall a good stay. Enjoyed the spa facilities despite a few features not working, such as the foot spa and the outdoor jets. Overall a good stay. Enjoyed the spa facilities despite a few features not working, such as the foot spa and the outdoor jets. However unlike most other spas they do not provide slippers, so it is best to bring sliders. We had to walk round barefoot which was quite slippy. The room was a great size, absolutely huge. We had a fabulous view of the golf course which was lovely. The bed was big and very comfortable, however we soon realised this was two single beds pushed together which can become quite uncomfortable in the middle where there is a dip. Staff were great and room was generally clean. However there was a lot of stains on carpet and furniture. I would also say that the decor is very dated, although it is supposed to be a traditional hotel, the carpets and curtains looked like they hadn’t been changed or cleaned in many years. Breakfast was delicious and there was lots of tables to choose from. Full English was provided, along with continental items. Despite the negatives I would happily stay here again as it was a reasonable price for spa with bed and breakfast.

We treated my mum to mother’s day gift, we have stayed at hotel before but mum was a lot more mobile. Location is absolutely stunning and close to city. Sarah and Bilal were so helpful we initially booked an apartment but hotel was quick to respond to say not suitable with my mum, so we were offered 2 double rooms for same price, we requested ground floor and interconnected which Sarah arranged and Bilal gave us access to rooms as soon as we arrived. Mum was so mesmerised by the surroundings and we had use of wheelchair as hotel is challenging given its age and restrictions. We made most of the scenery and walks. The interconnected rooms on ground floor were perfect. We made the most of the exceptional weather and enjoyed sitting outside on patio area after breakfast which we loved , dinners at restaurant were average quite bland, bar menu was good but we were disappointed no fish and chips! The spa, however was a huge disappointment one of the reasons we chose the hotel was based on previous experience of spa, half facilities were not working, the photos are deceiving as it needs complete refurbishment , staff there were not very helpful, to be constructive I would say most staff can be more customer friendly. When we checked out we were not asked how are stay was so i had to mention the spa only to be told yes work needs to be carried out but challenging. For us it created the memories for mum
