Absolutely brilliant first stay at Drayton Manor! We came over the Easter Holidays (for us- local schools had gone back already) it was sooo quiet, we didn't queue for anything and were given complimentary fast passes as we were staying at the hotel. We had been upgraded as a surprise to a Viking suite which was amazing and really magical for the children! The dinner was delicious, service was quick and all really reasonably priced. Breakfast was also delicious with lots of choice and it was nice to be sat in the garden room. Theme Park staff were also lovely and friendly, they remembered our children over the 2 days and kept saying hello and checking we were having a good time! A couple of rides weren't open first thing on our first day but they were sorted by lunch time and we managed to go on everything at least once- if not 2 or 3 times! Would recommend

“Presidential room”

Me and my other half stayed in a presidential room and by brother and his family stayed in the Viking themed rooms. This was to celebrate my niece’s joint birthday who are 3 and 7 so we went stay and play. Overall I had a super amazing time. The park wasn’t overly busy and in two days we got on all the rides we wanted and looked around the zoo. Good to see health and safety was strictly adhered to. The park is what it is, onto the hotel review… The presidential room exceeded my expectations. HUGE! Separate bath and shower. Bed was 2 singles pushed together which some don’t like, but I’m ok with. All very clean. Small fridge, hairdryer, bathrobes, kettle, iron and ironing board, welcome tray with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. One thing that I didn’t like was that the shower gel and moisturiser bottles were rusty. I wouldn’t expect to see this is a Travleodge let alone a presidential room in a decent hotel! It devalued the feel a little and would not be difficult nor expensive to replace or clean. We pre booked the 2 course evening meal. It was decent for the money paid and exceeded my expectations. It seems the later you go the quieter it is though. Breakfast was a standard affair. Nothing exciting and nothing to complain about. A tip is to definitely bring your own picnic for the day and maybe some snacks and drinks for the room as on-site they are very expensive. And a decent poncho for storm force as you do get very wet! Overall, had a wonderful time and I will be back.

We arrived at the hotel in the evening and was greeted by a lovely lady on reception. She was very friendly and welcoming, so the stay was off to a good start. We went up to our room, but unfortunately encountered an issue. Somehow, the room had exposed electrical wiring and yet was still signed off for guest occupancy. A bit of a dangerous hazard to say the least. We spoke to the same lady on reception, who advised that there was no one available to fix the issue, so provided us with another room opposite ours. Whilst we were happy that the room was swapped without any fuss, this meant that we had to go back up and move all out stuff from our nice, cool room, to a much hotter and stuffy room. The room itself was mostly clean, but the bathroom floor was pretty dirty and had black footprints and grime on the tiles. It looked liked all it needed was a good steam mop and it would be looking nice again, but the floor didn't appear to have been cleaned for a very long time. A lot of the the wood in the room was scratched and damaged, so could do with a refurb. There was also a lack of easily accessible plug sockets near the bed. We had dinner and drinks in the restaurant, which was very nice. Not cheap, but certainly not too overpriced either. Again, the staff were all very friendly and polite. Breakfast the next morning was again very nice and the food all seemed to be of good quality. It wasn't too busy either, which was nice. Overall, it was a mixed bag. Some elements of the stay were great, some were shocking. Exposed electrical wiring shouldn't be present at any hotel, let alone a premium 4* hotel. Hopefully they will listen to the feedback and make improvements, so we can consider a visit again in the future with a more positive review.
