Went for an evening meal, first class menu, excellent food and service, couldn’t fault it. Very reasonably priced, as well

“Lovely food”
Just back for our visit to the Brown Horse. Lovely quirky decor, friendly staff and customers. We both really enjoyed our meals and so did the dog. Great food and reasonable prices, we wouldn’t hesitate to go back when we are next in the area

“Nice pub grub”
Excellent homemade, traditional English food. The Sunday dinner and haddock were absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended. Prices were very reasonable for the Lake District and better than many chain pub restaurants.

“Great two nights”
Stayed in an outside dog friendly room. Room was lovely, really warm and comfy bed. Coffee facilities replaced as well as the biscuits. Great treat box for our dog, biscuits, a toy, poop bags and bowls and a small towel to use. Made a mistake by not booking a table the first night as it was complet… more
