Oxford Witney Hotel

My Wife and I needed a Nice Hotel close to all our Family who live mostly in Brize Norton / Carterton Area we chose the Oxford Witney because of it's position, We were given a Ground Level Room which was handy as my Wife is a Registered Blue Badge Holder and has Difficulty with Stairs the Twin Bedded Room was Clean and Comfortable, the Breakfast was Self Service and of Excellent Quality, and All Members of Staff were Very Helpful and Courtois.

“Short break-bit disappointed”

Came for 2 night package stay, which included bed, breakfast, evening meal and leisure facilities. Came for 2 night package stay, which included bed, breakfast, evening meal and leisure facilities. On entering the hotel couldn't help but notice the dead hanging baskets that had been degleted plus 2 large pots at the entrance door with dead bushes in. The table near reception had a vase of dead roses. Not a good first impression. The yellow seats in reception has some staining, somewhat off putting. The staff were pleasant enough and guided us to our room. On route to the lift we passed what seemed like something very dated and needing a face lift. The pictures on the wall really would have been better removed, old/uninteresting. Doors, skirting needing painting. Our room on the other hand was a little small but adequate. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Our evening meal was very nice but small. Breakfast, self service was excellent. The swimming pool was a shock to see, again much needed updating required. When in the water l was appalled on seeing the tiles at water level positively grimmy with beige filth. When leaving the pool at yhe top of the steps the white tiles had large deposits of green algae. Cleanliness really is paramount and time invested will combat any fear of bacteria. I did question the scheduling of their cleaning timetable and again was pretty shocked. The Duty Manager came to my table in the evening as clearly word had got back to him regarding my concerns. He assured me they were aware of these issues and were endvouring to address the problems. Didn't really fill me with confidence. Works I stay again? Probably not as overall the hotel felt more like a 3 star.

This hotel is not 4 star, I would say 3 star at the best, On their website they said a short walk to Witney town centre, this turned out to be 25 minutes. Also no EV charging units. the whole place needs painting and decorating plus new carpets, my bathroom in an upgraded room was awful needs rippi… more

This hotel is not 4 star, I would say 3 star at the best, On their website they said a short walk to Witney town centre, this turned out to be 25 minutes. Also no EV charging units. the whole place needs painting and decorating plus new carpets, my bathroom in an upgraded room was awful needs ripping out. I was sat in the garden at 10.05 when the bar girl came out and announced last orders, I went in 2 minutes later and the bar was shut, the bar girl said the night porter Started at 10.40 and I should ask him. The bar girl then went to her car which was parked on a diagonal in the disabled Parking bays and drove off like Lewis Hamilton. Breakfast and check in were good.
