Booked as the hotel was close to the WV Aldersley sports facility and one of our group had already booked a room, approx two miles away. It’s also a really short walk to the Molyneux. Typically it was the coldest, snowiest weekend so far this year. Upon arrival the car park closest to the entrance was closed due to heavy snowfall so we had to park in the additional parking area which was also well covered with snow, there is a £5 charge per 24 hours for parking. Despite the charge for parking there was no sign of any attempt to make any of the spaces available for parking but the walkways had been gritted to a fashion which was appreciated. The check in process was really simple and staff were really friendly. Upon entering our room it was extremely cold and we also noticed that despite booking a double room we had only been provided with one set of towels. The towel issue was easily rectified but it did take quite a while for the room to warm up. As I have noticed in other reviews people have mentioned rooms looking out on to the St Andrew’s ring road suffer from noise and I did have to check that the window was fully closed. There unfortunately was no food available at the hotel but as it’s just a short 10 - 15 minute walk into the town along Waterloo road we were able to find somewhere suitable after negotiating the snowy icy pavements. The following day we decided to leave the car where it was as conditions had remained the same if not deteriorated due to the snow turning to ice overnight in the car park. It then occurred to me that even though I’d paid for two night parking upon checking in there was a very real chance if I had moved then I would not have been able to find a space upon my return. Sunday morning we unfortunately were unable to have any breakfast as the hotel had not received their delivery, as I had paid as part of our stay the refund process was although an inconvenience easy to complete. My takeaway from our weekend is the staff are friendly & we get what we pay for, if possible avoid the main road side of the building, but most importantly book on site parking day by day if you plan to drive out to explore the area by car.
