A fabulous place to eat and stay. We had a 3 night break here and enjoyed every moment except leaving. On arrival we had a very friendly greeting and all was processed smoothly. Our meal was excellent and a very inventive menu, the same for breakfast each morning too, again with friendly, helpful and efficient staff providing a good atmosphere. The wine list included English wines locally sourced and a good variety of beers and lagers. The rooms are well equipped and nice and warm with really good showers although the design of the bath can make getting in and out a little tricky so maybe seek a shower only room? Some rooms are in the old stable block and some in the main building which are accessed up stairs which, being an old building, may be a little steeper than those at home. The rooms were spotlessly clean and noise levels not intrusive. Beverage facilities and cakes/biscuits are provided as is bottled water. A large free car park and a lovely beer garden top off this really rather good place to stay which is in a good location for almost anywhere in Kent.

We stayed here on our wedding. Ight back in 2024 and returned this year to celebrate our first anniversary. Yet again, we loved our stay here. The rooms have a classic cottage feel with modern touches. We stayed in a premium king ensuite room. My husband is 6ft 5 so had to duck under the beam to get into the bedroom but plenty of head space after that and it just adds to the character of the place. The bed was huge and the en-suite was clean and well kept. The room was equipped with a dressing table and drawers so plenty of space to keep belongings. We were offered fresh milk upon check in so enjoyed a cup of tea in our room. The outside areas are large and well thought out with a spacious courtyard area and steps leading up to a lovely garden with plenty of table and chairs. There is even an outside bar which serves everything you would expect of a bar with the addition of some yummy pizzas too! We ate dinner in the restaurant which was lovely. Word of warning….the mussel portions were huge! We had a great nights sleep and breakfast in the morning was delicious. A freshly cooked croissant and full cooked breakfast was exactly what we needed to start our day off. I can’t rate this place highly enough. It will always be special to us and I have no doubt we will be returning each year!

Used this hotel as a base for a Shuttle trip the following morning and it lived up to all expectations. A very pleasant room in the stable block, (a little pricey?) and a very good ‘pub meal’.
