“Nice little night away!”

Excellent location just 5 minutes from the centre of York. On site parking was a bonus. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Value for money.

Very comfortable and exceptional location. We could walk right outside our door to the pickup location for most excursions and out the other door for restaurants and shops Grocery is immediately next door Staff are friendly and kind

My husband booked this for my birthday, just to get away for a couple of nights. Its a lovely building that you don't really get to explore because its a hotel, you only go where you need to go. Our room was at lower ground level. I did ask my husband if he was asked about any mobility issues and he said he was not asked. Only because occasionally I do. None the less, we were one of the newly decorated rooms. It was clean and quite spacious, however the bathroom was TINY. You had to go into the bathroom, spin round to shut the door before you sat on the loo, or you couldn't shut the door once you were on the loo. You couldn't access the sink behind the door unless it was shut. Definitely a one person at a time bathroom. None the less it was clean. The bed.....my husband booked a superior double. The quilt on the bed only touched the edges of the bed, definitely needed a larger quilt. The mattress itself was one of those that had deep pockets sewn in and you felt every one of them during the night! Got to say it was not a comfortable sleep at all. Large TV. Kettle, iron and all that jazz. Had to fill the kettle from the bath as it wouldn't fit under sink tap. Water and kit-kats. Tea, coffee milk etc, but not really stocked enough for 2 people, in my opinion. We had food from the pizza oven, to be fair it was nice and fresh, quite tasty. Next evening we had burgers, fries were cooked more than once, so crunchy and overly salted. Burger was ok, have had better and a bit expensive, something like £42 for 2 people. Lots to do and see in York. But weekends are super busy. I would go back, I know what to expect now. For a 4 star luxury hotel, I think they have the bedding wrong, feather duvets and pillows, duvet to small for the bed. Minimum towels. But everything you might need. Oh and minimum bathroom stuff like shampoo, dinky bottle for 2 people.
