On a beautiful but bitterly cold March afternoon my twin brother and I were pub hopping around this part of the city when we decided to drop by The Rose And Crown Pub, been here before on many occasions, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit to here. A great looking pub,interior is superb, multi roomed, dark wood features abound throughout this pub, eclectic decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We ordered beers from Carling Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers. A big fan of this most famous of British beers, an easy drinking lager, when this beer is served freezing cold as in this pub its such a delicious beer indeed, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a delicious beer and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our beers in here, couldn't fault anything about our visit here before we moved on, can't wait to go again next time we're in York hopefully very soon. The Rose And Crown Pub is easy to locate along Lawrence Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday, midday till 11pm. Sunday, midday till 10.30pm. A great pub,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Me and my twin love visiting York as there's so many historic pubs and one of the pubs we went to was called the Rose&Crown on Lawrence street.Its outside the walls but it was only a short walk away from the place we were staying in. It was established in 1786 and its housed in a superb period building that looks superb especially when illuminated at night.It's got a traditional pub interior with local fixtures and feature's and excellent seating area's and when we visited here it was as busy as can be especially during the week. We were visiting a brilliant craft beer bar in this area (The Rook&Gaskill) but we went in here first for a quick beer.They have a very good food and drinks range in here but on our visit we only had a few beer's.When me and my twin were here we had a couple of Timothy Taylor's Brewery Landlord ales'an excellent cask ale which was amazing and reasonably priced considering the pub me and my twin brother were in and where this amazing old world pub is located. Its a traditional pub and guesthouse and a place that's well worth going to as the staff were superb as was the service as were its beers and its a pub we'll go again the next time were in York.(This is my second review of the Rose&Crown). Opening Hours. Monday-Saturday-12.00-23.00. Sunday-12.00-22.30.

“Fab Sunday lunch”

We all agreed Sunday lunch was fantastic - all home cooked, great veg and gravy and the best sticky toffee pudding I've ever had. Staff very welcoming, table service - highly recommended.
