Stayed 4 nights for the Commonwealth Games. Check in was easy. Room was average for a premium king. Plenty of plug sockets throughout the room, USB port by the right side of the bed. Comfortable bed, good sleep, although not only can you hear footsteps from the neighbour and upstairs, you can feel the steps - like mini earthquakes! Outside of the window is a ledge with pebbles and wild grass, and the occasional seagulls walking up and down the ledge! There's iron and ironing board, safe, nespresso coffee machine, with a good choice of coffee, teas, hot chocolate. There is a mini fridge that doesn't work as a fridge, but lovely touch with the complementary cans of water and Turnnocks wafers. No bath, but the shower cubicle is spacious, with a choice of rain shower or normal shower. Always good to find a separate hair conditioner from the shampoo, and a delight to see body lotion. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Personally, I enjoy a buffet that includes hot b breakfast, but the buffet option was limited continental breakfast, the hot breakfast has to be ordered from a menu. The first morning, the full Scottish - the srambled eggs were rubbery, and I had 2 black puddings instead of a haggis. The 2nd morning, the scrambled eggs were more edible, and I finally had a haggis and a black pudding. By the 4th morning - the scrambled eggs were better, and this time with added sprinkling of (probably) parsley (which weren't on the scrambled eggs the first 2 mornings!). Unfortunately, often, there is only 1 staff at reception. This was causing some stress as the one staff was dealing with an unhappy guest as I was trying to check out in time to catch my train. The location is perfect, only 5 minutes from Glasgow Central Station, lots of eating places within short walking distance. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, I chose this hotel as an IHG member. I would recommend ensuring better staffed reception, and more consistent breakfast to ensure good quality all the time.

Visiting the Commonwealth Games stayed for 3 nights. Staff pleasant check in swift. Room clean very little wardrobe space so wouldn’t recommend a long stay. No evening restaurant so meals have to be eaten in bar area. Breakfast chaotic, very understaffed. No hand gel and staff collecting dirty dishes then delivering clean cutlery and plates and wiping tables with same cloth as well as wiping chairs. Coffee machines dreadful disgustingly dirty. Staff trying to clean empty trays along side serving hot breakfast from Kitchen. Waited for 45 mins this morning (Fri 31/07/26) for eggs Benedict only one delivered hence the second person not receiving breakfast and walking out with out eating. Cup changed twice on table as first cracked and leaked coffee all over table. ( not cleaned up so we did with see kettle) 2nd cup cracked and eventually got 3rd cup to then Find coffee machines out of order for cleaning. Leaving waiting staff having to clean and refill machines !!!! Poor service this morning. The chef obviously didn’t think to prioritise the 2 Nd breakfast and staff continued to deliver breakfast to other tables leaving us waiting !!!!

“Expensive for an Average Hotel”

We stayed 3 days/ 2 nights here. As a diamond elite member of IGH, I found our welcome lackluster and the overall customer service poor. The 3rd floor lobby and hallways smelled terrible, thankfully our room did not. Our room was nice with great amenities, however there were coffee stains on the door, a ripped pillow and we found a can of water on the floor when we arrived. The breakfast and service at breakfast were both poor. I would go out next time. A decent stay in a good location for getting around the city. If you don’t care about service or small details, this is a fine hotel. A little expensive for what they get in my opinion.
