It’s the staff who truly make working away from home bearable. From the very first day, they’ve been so welcoming that staying here feels less like a hotel and more like visiting friends. I’ve been coming here on and off for the past 18 months due to work, and every single time the team goes above and beyond—they simply can’t do enough for you. Their ability to connect with guests is what really sets this place apart. The rooms vary in size (and I’ve stayed in most of them!), but they are always clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited to my needs. The food has consistently been excellent—I’ve never had a bad meal here. I’d definitely recommend the dirty fries, even though they’re not on the menu! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, and I’m sure I will. A big thank you to Amanda and all her staff for making every stay such a pleasure.

Shout out to Kelly Hodges who was on reception when we arrived, Kelly was really friendly and made my wife and I feel really welcome. We really like this hotel, its convenient for us when visiting relatives. Its very well located, less than a minute from the A13. Rooms are spacious, we didn't have breakfast this time but in the past it was good. The only comment if you suffer with neck problems were our pillows were wafer thin, I slept ok but my wife who has neck issues struggled to get comfortable. This was partly our fault, had we have checked them earlier I'm sure Kelly would have sorted us some replacement pillows.

Friendly and courteous staff. Clean. In a pleasant village. Good breakfast. However…I had not expected to be charged about £3 to park. It was probably there in the details when I booked, but…The room (258) was spacious and quite dark. The wooden sash window had been screwed shut. Air conditioning was effective, but I like a bit of fresh air. There was no shower mat. There were only two teabags which we used on arrival, and had to get more from Reception. At about 7.30 we went to dinner…it didn’t seem overly busy. We chose from the menu Fish and chips for my wife, pizza for me…I’d seen a few people eating them. But I was told, apologetically, that all the pizzas had been sold. Looked at the menu again, back to the bar, asked for a burger. The barmaid rang the kitchen…no burgers. She was now very apologetic. Back to the menu, then back to the bar asking for a fillet steak. Shamefaced barmaid said all steaks were finished ( it was now 7.40pm). So I had fish and chips, which was fine but not what I’d wanted. A reasonable night’s sleep, but the room is one of an adjoining pair. I was woken two or three times by the sound of a man (?) snoring, very audible through the locked interconnecting door. When I slept, he may have been troubled in turn. Next morning we breakfasted and then returned to our room to find that the water was not running. Luckily we’d already showered. Phoned and a maintenance man arrived. He said that the planned shutdown should not have cut off our water, and was puzzled that it had. That didn’t help us much.
