The staff were lovely and really helpful Would be good if breakfast at weekend could start at 7:30, especially when Bsb is on at Knockhill as we had to eat and rush. Breakfast on Sunday was a bit of a farce as there was no lights at the buffet as apparently they are worked by ipad, which was chaos as a full coach party was in at same time Room was clean and tidy, wee bottle of water in fridge would ha e been good and DEFO instructions for the coffee machine as I ended up having to clean up a huge mess, think the cups were too small

After going for an evening meal on Saturday with family, I believe that the hotel is very nice looking & seemed busy with people. We all sat down for the meal & had a look at the menu which I didn’t think had a great choice on , we all ordered our meals & and waited a short time, I was surprised at the size of the scallops, 2 of the smallest I’ve ever had in any restaurant I’ve been to, definitely not worth the price. Myself & The others ordered the steaks, only to come without any fries for any of us, after being told they came with the the steaks, others at the table ordered the chicken dish & those dishes never had any sauces, just a small rack of cherry tomatoes. Well the fish & chips, well let’s just say the father in-laws stomach was terribly upset that evening & after a few unwelcome visits to the toilet, not sure if or what caused it but certainly the fish. Now, for the deserts lol, cookie & icecream, £15 for 2 small cookies & 2small dollops if icecream & my partners sweet was way overpriced for what you got & it wasnt to great to eat or look at. I believe the standard wasn’t very great especially for the price of the meal, & the fact that someone wasn’t well after it. Won’t be back.

On the face of it, this was a very nice hotel. The decor is pleasant, the rooms are far bigger than average and the staff are lovely. Unfortunately, the back up to deal with problems is definitely lacking. Our main issue was that the internet did not work in our room, number 42. Peculiarly, it was only our room. I could walk down the corridor in either direction and get an excellent signal … unfortunately not in our room. The telephone was completely dead too …. I assume connected to the internet issue in some way. To be fair, we were offered a private room elsewhere in the building to work from, but that’s not very practical when you just want to chill in your room in the evening dealing with things and streaming your favourite entertainment. We stayed for 3 nights and it wasn’t fixed. We pointed out, when checking out, that we were out of pocket, due to the fact that we had to pay for mobile data, since we didn’t have a data plan on our mobiles. We thought the hotel might have re-imbursed us, but that was never offered. Other issues… The room was very warm (this was before the heatwave), with no apparent way of turning it down. The bathroom had a lovely shower but, unfortunately, the basin tap could only manage a dribble. The floors were very creaky. There was a little refridgerator … a very useful feature … except that it didn’t work! We came back to our room one evening to discover the bedside lamp had disappeared. Apparently the cleaners had broken it and removed it, but nobody thought it was worth mentioning or replacing. A very minor thing, although rather annoying, there were no hooks anywhere. Nowhere to hang a robe or towel. A little investment in a couple of hooks would make a huge difference.
