Intercontinental London - The O2, An Ihg Hotel

“Great hotel. Highly recommend.”

What a great hotel. I stayed here just for the one night as we were seeing Ariana Grande in Concert at the o2. They is a private walkway from the hotel to the arena. The staff, service, room and breakfast were all amazing highly recommend. We will definitely return!

It was an incredible experience. The hotel is very well managed, and all the staff were extremely kind and professional. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, with a great variety of fresh and delicious options every morning. Everything was perfect from start to finish. A special mention to Alpha Jallo, who welcomed us warmly and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable. We will definitely come back!

“I've been to better 5* hotels”

I booked this hotel some 5 weeks before the concert we were attending. Now, signage from the tube station is lacking to say the least. I booked this hotel some 5 weeks before the concert we were attending. Now, signage from the tube station is lacking to say the least. We ended up walking two thirds of the way around the O2 because, although we asked several times, no-one seemed to have any idea where the hotel was!! My husband is 80 years old ... he doesn't need that amount of walking and although I realise it is not exactly the fault of the hotel but better signage would be advantageous. Upon arrival we were checked in quickly and had to leave a £100 deposit which would be repayable on check-out. Now I may sound like a snob here but I have been to better 5* hotels - The Torrequebrada, Costa del Sol, The Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang, and The Rock Hotel, Gibraltar. There were stains on the carpet in our room. Honestly, it wouldn't take long to run a Vax shampooer over it. The desk lamp shade has those rust coloured marks on it and there were chips in the ceiling paintwork! Can't begin to think why that should be but there you are - it's there. In the morning I put the mat down outside the shower and when I'd finished stepped out onto a soaking wet mat!! The shower door is very ill-fitting and leaks out all over the floor! Not nice! I mentioned it to Reception and was told 'Thank you for reporting it' but will they address it I wonder?! At the 'sumptuous' breakfast hubby and I started with a medley of melon and then I ordered egg royale. My hubby was told that he could go to the self serve area and select what he wanted for his British fry-up. He came back, ate it all and had another cup of tea and I'm STILL waiting for my order!! My husband called a member os staff over and asked just how much longer it would be. Her reply was 'It'll be ready very shortly' and she walked away only to return 40-50 SECONDS later with said egg. It was stone cold and the muffin was stale! I felt quite insulted and opted to leave but my husband said for what we have paid for one night we were going to have it right so he requested a freshly cooked egg that hadn't been sitting on the 'pass' for goodness knows how long! The second egg was hot and the muffin fresh. Then we checked out and I reminded the person on Reception about the £100 deposit and she tapped away on the computer and responded that the refund would be showing on my account in 5 - 10 minutes. Once at home I checked my card account and - guess what? NO REFUND! I had to rattle off an email to the hotel and the following day I received a reply stating that upon checking they noticed that the refund hadn't automatically refunded and that they had now done it manually. I'm not overly enamoured with this hotel and I am very glad that we shall not be returning.

“Would think twice before booking again”

Concierge was lovely and very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent. The connection to the O2 was perfect. Concierge was lovely and very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent. The connection to the O2 was perfect. Sadly, our stay was marred by the fact that the room they gave us was not what I had booked. I had booked a junior suite for 3 adults, this room could only sleep 2. They moved us to another room. This was also only prepared for 2 guests, although at least this one had a sofa bed for the 3rd adult. Also, the room had clearly been prepared for a different guest as they had left a welcome letter and chocolates for him! We were due to go out and wanted to know that when we returned the room would be ready for us to just go to bed. So back down to reception. Receptionist was unbothered that documents for a different customer were left in the room and replied ‘when you ask them to (housekeeping)’ when I asked when the sofa bed would be prepared. Considering the room should have been set up for 3 adults to begin with I don’t see why I should have to keep wasting my afternoon asking for what I have paid for?! Very poor attitude and service from reception staff. Didn’t find any of them particularly welcoming.
