“Great experience and lovely staff”

Gorgeous hotel and such lovely staff! Couldn’t have asked for more, exactly what we wanted for our weekend trip. Carolyn on reception was so friendly and welcoming, she made our experience even better.

A long time since I stayed here ,having read recently that it had been updated decided to return Glad I did as I found it excellent, rooms are very tastefully decorated and spacious. Bathroom very good ,toiletries were excellent. Clean and bright throughout ,plenty of seating areas. Staff very friendly and attentive, reception staff very welcoming.All very good one in particular from Glasgow makes it feel as if they know you. Do think the restaurant could benefit from at least a few more staff,a bit slow in renewing food containers,no soda bread,needs a little more supervision

“Luxury at its best.”

We booked a night here as a quick getaway and to celebrate a big birthday. We were informed we were not in the hotel but across the street in one of the apartments. We were not disappointed. The apartment was huge, with its own mini kitchen, dining room/lounge area. The bed was queen size with a sofa bed and the bathroom was huge having its own separate shower and bath. Robert had checked us in and had thoughtfully arranged a card and plate of mini cakes to celebrate the big birthday and could not do enough to make our visit pleasant. We had our dinner in the bar and it was very tasty and relaxing atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will definitely make it point to stay here again when in Belfast.

“loud hotel in a quiet neighborhood”

The Malone Hotel is in a leafy residential neighborhood in the Queens University district. It’s a pleasant five-minute walk to several restaurants. Unfortunately, noise from the hotel’s own bar is a major problem for hotel guests. Our first room was very nice (size, décor, amenities), but was directly above the hotel’s bar and quite close to its outside patio. Unfortunately, a large group of drunk bar patrons were playing drinking games and singing on the patio, making our room miserable. (Our windows were open because it was hot and the room didn’t have A/C.) The duty manager told us we should have requested a quiet room if we didn’t like drunken bar noise. I found that to be odd. No one was on duty that night with enough will and authority to quiet or close down the drunken revelry. Or they make higher profits from bar patrons than from guests in the hotel rooms. Fortunately, a pleasant Kiwi receptionist, Robert, arranged for us to move to another part of the hotel. Unfortunately, the second room was quite inferior to our first room. Therefore, the next day Robert arranged for us to move to a third room, which was as nice as our first. Also, the drunks were gone. (Thanks, Robert.) Aside from the drunken bar noise, the hotel ambience was nice. The breakfast buffet was ample and guests could order other items on the menu to be cooked to order. The hotel has ample free parking along the road in front of the hotel. In addition, there is a parking lot behind the hotel for 10 pounds/night. I cannot recommend this hotel because it doesn’t appear to be well managed (or they would have managed the bar patrons, rather than us).
