Just returned from a trip here for 4 nights as part of a coach tour. Hotel is huge with lovely bar area and our room was a lovely size of 2 , though bathroom on the smaller size. Surroundings are perfect, feels like in the wilderness & only a short mile walk to avimore or bus stops straight outside. Lovely pool and sauna, slide wasn't open but that wasn't a problem. Lovely, helpful staff on swimming reception, but there is no lifeguard so parents really need to keep a close eye on little ones! Wood shed serves delicious pizza which is well worth a try if the overwhelming restaurant is too busy. It takes a while to get served , however this is no fault of the staff who work there as they have to make food as well as serve bar. Bar man in hotel bar was very rude (no name but he wasn't the scottish bar man) when I asked if there was a chance of getting a glass of milk....from his response, anyone would have thought I had asked him to go milk the cow himself! The Scottish staff are amazing, friendly and want to help, answering queries and apologising for any delays/waiting around. The female foreign staff who are in the hectic restaurant are very rude and impolite, could hear them shouting at each other in an aggressive manner in what I believe could be the staff bedrooms at the back of the building. As part of a coach tour I understand that meals have to be served at specific times, even though I don't necessarily agree with this as I should be able to eat when I prefer to eat not when I'm told, when I'm a paying customer. A request to eat later was met with disgust and just general rudeness that I had dared to enjoy the swimming facilities and miss our allocated dinner time slot. I was shouted at across the room that I was very late , and felt it only right to snap back that she was rude. Which indeed she was. Felt like I was back at school and being told off by my teacher! I'm sure all the staff who across as rude are lovely people but maybe redo customer service training , or better still look for a job where you do not have to deal with the customers!! Aside from this , we would certainly be back to Aviemore but maybe not stay here. A beautiful part of the world 🌎❤️
