We have been to this hotel many times over the last 35 years but not so much since taken over by Britania. A lot of the reviews I read did not reflect what I found. 1. I managed to check in on line, did try twice it worked. Saved having to complete forms at reception. 2. When we arrived there wasn't a queue at check-in. Maybe if you arrive just as a coach tour arrives I could see that may cause delays. 3. Room, a standard double in main building was good. The bathroom looked like it had recently been upgraded. Shower was excellent. Usual toiletries were available. Normal heat problem in room, don't understand how they get so hot !! Ask for the window restrictions to be taken off so you can fully open the window. Maybe some of the furniture is a bit run down but everything worked and fulfilled it's purpose. 4. Restaurant. Breakfast- you really couldn't have asked for anything more. Dinner - not a huge fan of buffet however what was on offer was very good. Maybe a couple of additions to the starters wouldn't go amiss. Choice of 5 main courses. Maybe the vegetarian options could have had more protein added. Overall good selection. Who doesn't like a bit of gateau for pudding 😋 . Tea and coffee to finish. Really good. 5. Staff those members that we encountered were warm friendly and efficient. Obviously the amount of staff has been reduced however even when passing on stairs they were very polite and helpful. 6. Facilities- didn't use the pool or gym as weather was too good. Increase in outdoor seating areas great. The roadway has been resurfaced and is a massive improvement. All in all in my opinion this hotel is trying hard to be the best it can be at the price. Will I go back -YES.

“Scottish Highlands rail holiday”

Have just returned from a Scottish Railways 5 day holiday with Newmarket Holidays which was well organised. Our coach driver Keith was excellent and our tour guide Hayley very good. We have no complaints about the hotel, Coylumbridge Hotel except about the food which each evening was unappetising… more

Have just returned from a Scottish Railways 5 day holiday with Newmarket Holidays which was well organised. Our coach driver Keith was excellent and our tour guide Hayley very good. We have no complaints about the hotel, Coylumbridge Hotel except about the food which each evening was unappetising. The only choice of dessert was bought in Gateaux or small tub ice-cream. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, two double beds, and quiet. The lounge area was large and comfortable and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

“Good one day pitstop”

It's got all you need for a one night's sleep apart from the waffle thin walls and doors banging all night through to 3am. Room's are clean, decent bed and shower with coffee and tv. Didn't use the gym or pool as it's not open at 0600. Breakfast was the saviour! Great breakfast!! Parking was full b… more

It's got all you need for a one night's sleep apart from the waffle thin walls and doors banging all night through to 3am. Room's are clean, decent bed and shower with coffee and tv. Didn't use the gym or pool as it's not open at 0600. Breakfast was the saviour! Great breakfast!! Parking was full but managed to get my motorcycle parked and locked. Reception was ok at check-in but seemed very under staffed. Would I return, yes, for the breakfast!
