Booked this for a girls trip to my family home city. I can't really fault it, the staff were lovely, the rooms were basic but nothing wrong with them. We booked in for breakfast each day, the kitchen staff were accommodating and the food was lovely. Loved my full Scottish breakfast each day! As I said the rooms are basic but they were clean, tidy, and welcoming. There is a shower in the room, however, they are a little awkward to use as the shower head is a little aggressive and doesn't move. It does the job. The hostel is directly on a tram line so transport to major locations was an ease. Towels aren't included but you can ask for one at reception along with a hairdryer! The lobby was a lovely atmosphere with available games and WiFi, which was accessible throughout the hostel. All in all a great stay but remember to bring ear plugs as the corridors and street can be a bit noisy at night.

Pros: excellent location downtown near MacDonald tram stop. Luggage storage room available although I did not use it. Shared kitchen available. Quiet private rooms available with en suite bathroom. Pros: excellent location downtown near MacDonald tram stop. Luggage storage room available although I did not use it. Shared kitchen available. Quiet private rooms available with en suite bathroom. Free chilled water station at the bar for refilling your bottles. Cons: it's a bit of a trek from the train station and can be confusing if following Google map directions since the street layouts and names are not quite aligning with Google, plus there are no blue and white hostelling signs. The exterior and the posted advertisement make it look more like a restaurant than a hostel. Lastly the check-in staff did not once crack a smile or welcome, and I stood in front of them for quite a while before being acknowledged. The check-out staff, though, were awesome. Night and day difference! Being downtown you'll hear the tram starting in the early morning, but if you're used to city hustle and bustle it should not be very disruptive.

“Mixed bag, could do better!”

Friendly staff on reception, good central location, reasonable price compared to other budget accommodation BUT our room could have done with a lamp on both sides of the bed, our duvet had a large stain (possibly blood?) on it and the self catering kitchen had virtually no mugs and no teaspoons wit… more

Friendly staff on reception, good central location, reasonable price compared to other budget accommodation BUT our room could have done with a lamp on both sides of the bed, our duvet had a large stain (possibly blood?) on it and the self catering kitchen had virtually no mugs and no teaspoons with which to make a brew….,and the staff clearing the kitchen was surly and looked very unhappy.
