Inverlochy castle hotels stunning: amazing food, physically glorious. But outstanding service became extraordinary the evening I was walking to my room and began to feel unwell. Paula, a member of staff, was carrying out turndown service in my room as I began to collapse before reaching the bed. She caught me before I fell, eased me safely to the floor. I was briefly in a faint but she woke me as is medically best practice; kept talking to me, held my head expertly, put me in recovery position, got a coworker to call for medical advice, all the time kind and competent. I was incredibly lucky. If I had not been helped to the ground by Paula I could have broken something; her calm, caring competence saved me from panic. And the immediacy of help meant no damage was done I spent a few days in bed in the hotel ( I refused an ambulance) and all the staff were kind, wanting to help and went above and beyond. Paula in particular. It was like Mary Poppins appearing just when you need heri heard later she has had some experience working as a carer and hence knew what to do. And that level of care in addition to an amazing room: it is spacious , comfortable, beautifully appointed with a lovely view. The common lounges are breathtaking. Lushly appointed, wuiet, with green expanse, views for ever. Afternoon tea gazing at the view was sensational. With catering for my various food allergies. The degustation dinner, particularly the prequel of chandelier lit canapés and champagne with masterful grand piano player perfectly pitched to the setting. This place is an absolute gem. And Paula is a total credit to her employer. A hidden gem.

Beautiful setting and surroundings. The staff were very professional and friendly and the garden suite was absolutely superb. Visiting the Inverlochy is one of the highlights of our two weeks in Scotland. It’s ideal for a night or two stay. Impeccable service, lush, sweeping grounds that at the time of our stay were bursting with spring color. We had drinks in the drawing room at the main house before dinner, then ate at Factor’s Inn pub, which is on the grounds, just a short walk away. The menu is simple, and the food was outstanding. To those who say the hotel looks old, I simply shake my head. What did you come to a historic property for? Our superior double was welcoming, clean and spacious, with fine linens and heated bath towels. We will definitely return if in Scotland again. Thank you so much to the warm and accommodating staff. Many of them have worked there for decades, which is a testament to what this fine hotel is all about.
