The location of the hotel is very convenient, not far from the city center and the railway station. Check-in was quick. The staff was excellent, very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, especially Briggy at reception. The room was clean, and I especially appreciate the comfortable bed. It was quiet and peaceful at night. The breakfast was excellent.

“Premier Inn”

You know what you get at a Premier inn and this was no exception. Comfy beds and close to the train station and a supermarket. Just what we needed after the WHW.

“Very small rooms but clean.”

Clean hotel with friendly staff. But the rooms are incredibly small. Be sure to mind the small signs about vaping and putting your recyclables next to the bin and not in the bin. Positive note: they are located within about a 10 minute walk to shops and cafés.

Good points: Proximity to the railway station. Supermarket is close by. Few minutes walk to the main town & nice views of the River Lochy from the public path by the hotel perimeter. Room was OK - typical Premier Plus. Ours had a view of tall trees & overlooking public path (see below re disturbance). Didn't ask for room servicing during our 2-night stay, so cannot comment on that Not so good points: Disgruntled & generally uninterested staff, except for the lady who greeted us on Bank Holiday Monday, who was not only working alone but also had to deal with people complaining that there was no cooked breakfast available due to the chef being sick (& no cover for them!). Check-in was OK, but there was no acknowledgement when we subsequently came in & out of reception several times over the 2-night stay & only had a cursory goodbye when prompted by us on checking out (not the same lady as on 'check-in'). Not enough staff to cater for the Bank Holiday breakfast volume of customers - no cover for the chef's sickness, so no cooked breakfast option on the Bank Holiday Monday. Clearly understaffed on both of the days at breakfast Ran out of basic items like jam sachets, cereals, and clean plates - supply issues! Only one working coffee machine, the other being out of order. Dining room - some chairs had cracked seat surfaces & the stuffing hanging out below! Evening dining was not an option "due to unforeseen circumstances" during our stay, although we were given prior warning by email some time in advance ......? Litter around the immediate outside remained for the 2 nights we stayed. Public path ran below our room, the other side of a perimeter wooden fence (part broken in places), meaning we were disturbed by shouting passersby at 2am on one night. Cannot recommend, especially at the high price point. You pay a hefty premium for staying in Fort William!
