The hotel is literally a minute's drive from the M8 motorway and has an underground car park with a lift to the lobby. Spaces are tight but manageable. We included parking in our booking and simply gave our registration number to the check-in agent to enable us to leave in the morning (the barrier lifted automatically after recognising the plate). Our deluxe room with two queen beds was clean, well-maintained and tastefully decorated, with generous space for a family of three, warm lighting and a working desk. Noise insulation was good, with only occasional noise from the corridor. The bathroom was clean and functional with a decent enough shower (not rainfall), although it's a shame there is no bath. Dinner at Whisky Mist bar and restaurant was fair quality, although service was rather patchy, with other tables near us being served faster and more attentively. The self-service breakfast was also fair, with a reasonable range. Parts of the spa area were a bit tired (especially the rather grubby changing rooms, which did not feature swimming costume dryers), but we appreciated the decent sized pool, jacuzzi and sauna (advance booking was required), and the wide range of complimentary hot drinks available in the spa reception. There are two filtered water taps in the lobby, which were really handy and saved us having to stock up on bottled water. This is a good all-round hotel without frills or pretensions (you park yourself and there is nobody pestering you to take your luggage). While improvements could be made, the rating reflects the value proposition. We would happily return.
