“Staff can be unwelcoming and uncouth”

We stayed here for one night on a shopping trip to Glasgow from Drumnadrochit. My husband had previously stayed here when travelling to and from Glasgow airport, as it takes at least 4 hrs to get there from home. As he has stated, the hotel is really conveniently placed in the centre of Glasgow, just close to John Lewis, the bus station for coaches and the Queen street station. The room was clean, perfectly adequate for one night with a nice big shower and very large comfortable bed, plus tea and coffee making facilities. We had a special offer of a free breakfast each included in our deal and the buffet choice was good and the restaurant comfortable, although would always prefer a cooked to order service myself if possible. If we had paid £15.00 each, the going price, I would have felt a little overcharged, but recognise this is the going rate nowadays. However, and its with a heavy heart I say this, the staff were the main downside; what a cheerless and charmless welcome everywhere! Coming from the Highlands we were not used to this. The lady on the breakfast room, ushering us in, was brash to the point of being rude. She turned away an elderly couple, because they had not prior booked the breakfast, sent them away to pay at reception and told them quite rudely not to reappear for at least half an hour, as she had "had quite enough to deal with, with this lot, in the restaurant already". Being referred to as "this lot" very loudly, did not make you feel any more welcome.What a shame, the reception staff were equally abrupt and unwelcoming, unforgivable in my book.

“Great location for transport”

Room clean, hotel in excellent location, staff a bit uninterested. Chose to deal with a workman and left us standing, waiting to check in. Didn't eat in hotel, so unable to comment.

Hotel very convenient to bus and train and city centre. Room was clean and comfortable. Very good shower and bed. Had to go to reception for towels. Hotel very convenient to bus and train and city centre. Room was clean and comfortable. Very good shower and bed. Had to go to reception for towels. The only thing that let our stay down was the reception staff. Not the warm welcome usually shown by Glaswegians and Scots generally. Largely ignored and snapped responses to guests. Really not good ambassadors for Premier Inn or the city. Could easily have been so much nicer for all our lovely visitors to Scotland who should be seeing Scotland's hospitality after travelling from all over the world.
