“Superb A++”
Always superb - fantastic staff - I my opinion one of the friendliest hotels in Scotland. Great atmosphere - central location - comfortable rooms/bed - parking near by / and the breakfast was superb freshly cooked all you can eat. “Overnight stay”

“Adequate but not memorable”
We spent one night at the Salutation. It was fine but not particularly memorable. The rooms are small. We reserved two rooms, each with twin beds. We had 103 and 203. “Mixed Bag honest review.”
Firstly the hotel is old and that’s part of its charm, the staff were efficient & friendly. We would have liked an explanation of getting around the hotel as it is a bit of a rabbit warren, that together with the lift being broke (since March) was not easy to navigate. “Dated and noisy”
Very dated hotel and stuck in the 1970s On check in we were given no information about breakfast or dinner was just told which room we were in and the lift isn't working so the stairs were the only option Unbelievably creaky hotel floors and a lovely views over the bins to top it off good location… more
