“Friendly staff and great meeting facilities”

We were very well looked after and everyone was vey friendly. Staff were lovely, particularly Mike who co-ordinated our meeting on the day and Jess on reception who welcomed us after our long journey.

We recently held a company event at Village Hotel St David’s, Chester, and the experience was good from start to finish. The event ran smoothly, and the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout. The event planner was excellent and ensured everything was well organised. Some of us stayed overnight prior to the event, and the bedrooms were clean, comfortable, and well decorated. The food was good quality, and the service was efficient. We will definitely use this venue again in the future. A special mention to Gemma H, Caroline T, Mike W, Owen C, and all other hotel, restaurant, and kitchen staff for their service.

Dear Gemma, Although a much smaller group for our family reunion, I we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you. It was great to meet you Gemma and I loved my gift, which was very kind of you. The girls on reception Caroline and Jess were helpful and welcoming. We all felt our visit was like a ‘home from home’ and nothing was too much trouble. We were well looked after efficiently by bar staff and waited on beautifully on Saturday night. Thank you to all staff, well done Beth, Abi W, Jess, Owain, James and Molly all showing star quality. Our meals were delicious with everyone saying how good the food was, please pass on thanks to chefs and everyone in the kitchen. Thanks Gemma for coping with our changes as they occurred and sorting out any problems. Please say thanks to Tina, Lindsey and Mo as well. “Good till you want to redeem the Pub & Grill credit”

Every time we stay at a Village Hotel and attempt to redeem the dining/bill credit in the Grill restaurant, there seems to be an issue. On previous occasions, I have even been charged incorrectly because of confusion surrounding the credit. Unfortunately, during this stay, there was once again uncertainty and a negative experience when trying to redeem it. We visit this brand regularly and enjoy staying with Village Hotels, which is why it is particularly disappointing that redeeming the included credit has never been a straightforward process. For some reason, reception staff and managers frequently need to become involved, which creates an uncomfortable and frustrating experience for guests over something that should be simple and seamless. It leaves the impression that staff are either unclear on how the credit works or that the process itself is overly complicated. As loyal customers, we would appreciate clearer systems and staff training to ensure guests can redeem their included benefits without confusion, delays, or embarrassment.
