“An excellent short break”

A lovely short break, the staff were very obliging, the food good and the bedroom very large and well equipped.

A beautiful hotel and excellent location. The staff were all very friendly, it was a nice touch to see the manager greeting and chatting with guests at dinner. A beautiful hotel and excellent location. The staff were all very friendly, it was a nice touch to see the manager greeting and chatting with guests at dinner. Rooms are dated in terms of decoration, but are immaculately clean. The mattress was a little hard but that's just down to personal preference. Loved having the use of the pool, swam both mornings. The weather was very hot during our stay, so it was a thoughtful and appreciated touch to be provided with a fan to cool the room down. The food was great quality - the sticky toffee pudding was so good!! And the views from the terrace restaurant were second to none. Only two small gripes - ordered a coffee after dinner on our second night but after waiting 20 minutes for it to arrive, I ended up cancelling it. I'm not sure a latte should take that long to prepare. Secondly, the poolside are had not been cleaned - the same hairs and dirty marks were there both mornings - and as I swam as the pool opened at 7am, I felt it really should have been clean both days.

Friendly staff. Clean comfortable room. Great to have the swimming pool / sauna / steam room included in the price. Delicious breakfast.

We have stayed here many times. It has a swimming pool which is great. Over the last few years they have cut down on lots of little things. At breakfast if you want fish there is extra charge. In the room they used to leave lots extra things such as sewing kit, shoe cleaner, and other things. There is no hot chocolate in the tea tray any more. They have stopped doing sandwiches on the bar menu. The staff are very nice. The inside of the hotel is fine but some of the outside ie. window frames need attention.

A friend was staying there for 3 nights to visit family, we met her there for supper on the terrace as we’d eaten there before. The first hurdle was getting a table on the terrace. It was 6pm and virtually empty but my husband was told they couldn’t guarantee a table, but you couldn’t book. It was a first come, first served basis, so we were eventually allowed a table. A variety of menus. My husband ordered a prawn cocktail, which went to the next table who hadn’t ordered it, he eventually received it. He ‘s on anti rejection medication after a kidney transplant so has to be uber careful about what he eats. He ate 2 prawns and asked me to taste them, they definitely tasted on the turn so he left it. The waitress was told and informed the chef who said they were fine. Our main courses then arrived, at the wrong table. One person had ordered the same as ourselves and looked very upset when it was whisked away, I lost count how many times cutlery was dropped on the floor. Eventually we got the bill. We always use ApplePay. All machines wouldn’t accept it, we had this problem last November. Obviously hasn’t been fixed. I suggested we pay at reception. That worked. My friend said the first room she was offered was tired and hot, they said they could only offer her one other room as they were full. Heaven knows why…..
