I never write a review but felt the need to as I think chefs and kitchen staff need recognition. We haven’t personally stayed here. We have a caravan round the corner but for the last four weeks we have come and eaten every Sunday and it’s been lovely all the time. The chefs at this hotel need praising for the continuous good food. Have recommended to lots of people.

“Perfect relaxing stay”

We have had a lovely stay at the Beaches hotel. We stayed in a Seaview double room looking out over the ocean which was a super treat. The room was clean and comfortable with everything you need. We have had a lovely stay at the Beaches hotel. We stayed in a Seaview double room looking out over the ocean which was a super treat. The room was clean and comfortable with everything you need. Shower was fabulous. Breakfast was lovely. Lots to chose from and a special mention to Sue the restraunt hostess who was very friendly welcoming. All the staff throughout the hotel are really lovely. Very professional and happy to help. The pool and spa are a great extra. Would definitely recommend and will return in future. Suzi & Dan x

Arrived Saturday 11 am couldn't check in till 3pm so chilled out for a while till the food in the bar was being served. I could get a coffee but had to wait for my scone and jam etc kitchen didn't start serving food till 12 scones were small but warm and soft. Cream was warm pot of jam and 2 wrapped butter. Saturday afternoon got the key for the room. Top of the building compact room enough for one nice breeze coming in the window. Only two sockets in the room, small desk top taken up by the kettle etc. Good job I brought an extension cable. Saturday pm trio of sorbets Lemon, Raspberry and Mango pieces of fresh fruit great for cooling down in this heat. Sunday breakfast 7.45 after the pool at 6.30 hard to choose as I'm not a great eater, so I opted for smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and I piece of wholemeal toast not sourdough. Got juice a banana & a pear. Cereal choice was open to the elements and not knowing how long they had sat there. Packet weetabix was an option. Tea pot came just enough for 1.5 cups. Ordered a croissant, they are cooked to order so they were nice touch. My breakfast came a lot of smoked salmon same amount of scrambled eggs, buttered toast. So I made a smoked salmon sandwich with the bulk of it got a box to take away and have it later. Ate the rest of the salmon and half of the eggs. Croissant with honey and jam choice with choice of butter or margarine. Croissant was good. Sunday lunch for 7 adults & 2 children next at 2.30 As we were a large group we had to pre order starters and mains as we were only having mains and possibly desert. It had to be done for the Thursday before. We were settled before 2.50 With drinks done food arrived about 3.30 all hot and looking good. 1 roast beef, 2 roast lamb, 1 roast pork, 3 bacon cheese burger 2 children's chicken nuggets chips & peas. Everybody seemed to enjoy, 1 comment was pork was fatty 2 who had lamb said it was tough. The rest were fine. Ordered 4 deserts the 2 children had ice cream with their choice. 2 sticky toffee puddings, 1 jaffa orange chocolate dome, 1 strawberry meringue nest couldn't have that as they had run out. So he had the blackcurrant desert. Sticky toffee portion was huge and very hot inside even so the ice cream was half melted or it was sitting in the kitchen. Two other deserts were ok. Everybody left happy. So now to day 2 breakfast. Monday morning pool at 6.45 then went for breakfast at 7.40 had orange juice & tea. Ordered the children's small breakfast bacon, sausage, beans, fried egg and hash brown but I asked for black pudding instead of bacon. All was hot, fried egg was soft. The black pudding didn't have fat specks in but was tasty the sausage was meaty but ok. Wholemeal toast the bread they use is good. After a day out visiting family etc I came back to the hotel. My towel hadn't been changed even though i left it on the foor also no shower gel & shampoo & the torn paper shower mat hadn't been replaced. Went to reception got that sorted. Time was getting on I fancied a soup. Soup of the day was roasted vegetable, sounded good so I ordered one. Little wait the soup arrived with a wedge of rustic bread (half a baguette) 2 butters in wrappers and soup spoon. Had to ask for a knife. The soup was topped (see picture) micro herbs half a garden. If I order soup again I'm going to say I'm allergic to micro herbs and just ask for bread as the rustic bread crusts were to hard for me. Soup was tasty, well seasoned. Tuesday breakfast Im still struggling to eat, so I ordered a porridge it came piping hot and creamy and with a little pot of honey. Porridge was really good, besides mine the best hotel cooked porridge I've had. I then opted for 1 hash brown and a fried egg both hot. Clare the breakfast assistant has been very helpful. Wednesday breakfast I had a bit of heartburn so I had some yogurt then porridge still good then a small bit of Wholemeal toast. I went to the lounge and had coffee & bara brith with butter it was warm and tasty. Thursday breakfast porridge again, ordered a slice of white bread with one sausage and made a sandwich with the crusts cut off. Sausage was ok bread nice and fresh. Friday breakfast I had porridge again but today's wasn't as good as it has been all week, see what its like tomorrow. Got a slice if bread again and ordered 1 fried egg to make a sandwich. I came down to the bar at 12 to have a coffee and bara brith again as its on special. No bara brith so had to make do with home-made Welsh cakes and butter. They came out warm and were quite large, so now I've had the 3 specials. Its too close to say which was the best. The cream let the scones down but three were all good without the accompaniments so a draw. Saturday breakfast I had porridge again it was better than yesterday also had 1 fried egg with buttered bread. Saturday evening having been out all day I decided to have some soup, the soup of the day was tomato & basil which I had with a slice of bread. Soup came i wished I had said no micro herbs on top. The soup was hot and very rich and reminded me of the base to a bolognaise if you like it that way fine, but not for me. Before Sunday breakfast i went to the pool as usual but when I was in there I thought I saw bubbles breaking at the top of the water but when I got there it was loads of drips coming from the ceiling. So when I dried I told reception she came with me and was saying its probably condensation, when she had a look I said you would need to check the room above the pool and be careful none of the ceiling plates fall on someone. Back to breakfast I had the same as the last couple of days but when I finished I had a bowl of coco pops. Went back downstairs for a while while my room was normally serviced. About 9.50 needed to get my drinks container got to my floor and the guy with a towel trolley was going in the lift. My room is just next to the lift on my door handle the note had been canged from please service to please don't disturb. So got my drinks bottle went to reception and told the receptionist and she said she will make sure it will be done. Room was serviced by 3pm. Back down sitting in the lounge area with all my stuff 12.15 decided to get a latte the bar worker Bethany didn't know how to turn it on so she went if to get someone who did. Its supposed be ready for 11.30 it opens. A kitchen worker came and pressed the on button on the side of the machine. While I'm standing there a queue had formed and I said you might aswell serve them while waiting for the machine to heat up etc which was about 10 to 15 minutes. I got my latte and went back to where I was sitting the women restaurant supervisor asked if I would move into the bar sofa as this room is being used for a function. I asked her if sandwiches were available and she said they only do baguettes on the Sunday menu which was only roast pork, roast lamb & roast beef. 15 minutes later she came back and said they didn't have any baguettes or sandwiches. I don't know what's going to replace the rustic bread with the soup as when I had the soup last night it was a wedge of baguette. I booked a table for 4 at 5 just incase my 2 sons wanted to eat as they have 2 large parties in the restaurant. The soup was the same as last night tomato & basil and as I didn't enjoy it ill have to pick something else. Son & Daughter in law arrived we ordered 1 scampi chips and peas 1 roast beef dinner 1 scampi, mashed potato and salad. All enjoyed the food, proper scampi not the reformed stuff. Had room for desert 2 meringue nest one had extra ice cream. I had the children's portion of sticky toffee pudding because last time I had to leave half. So the last food of the week turned out the best. Its a shame you cannot get the same quality every time. Know doubt my the family will be back again.
