We decided to treat ourselves to a short stay in Tenby and were not disappointed by the Imperial Hotel. We received a warm and friendly welcome at check-in on Sunday, our ground floor room was clean and very comfortable. We were glad that we had upgraded to a sea view room which afforded views of the beautiful beach and Cauldey Island. Our Sunday evening roast in the restaurant was generous and delicious and our breakfast on both mornings was the same. We also appreciated the complimentary drinks voucher we received on our second day. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere throughout our stay. The hotel also proved to be a great base for exploring Tenby and Cauldey Island on foot. Although parking isn't provided at the hotel, we were able to park in a nearby car park (£15 for 24 hours) and then found unlimited on-street parking near the Bowls Club. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely return!

We stayed here from 17th–19th April in Room 301 and unfortunately felt the experience didn’t quite justify the price. We were travelling with our dog and had notified the hotel in advance. While we brought our own essentials, it was a little disappointing that there were no extra touches in the room, especially as the hotel promotes itself as dog-friendly and describes pets as “VIPs.” The room itself felt quite dated and the layout was impractical. The television couldn’t be viewed from the bed and was only visible from an awkward position near the bathroom. The sofa placement also seemed odd, and upon sitting down, I found a blue pill left behind, presumably from a previous guest, which raised concerns about the level of cleaning. Although we had a comfortable night’s sleep and enjoyed visiting Tenby and Saundersfoot, we were surprised to return to a room that had not been properly serviced. Only the towels we had left out were replaced; the sinks and shower were not cleaned, the bed wasn’t made, and the Welsh cakes (a nice touch on arrival) were not replenished. On a more positive note, the hotel downstairs is lovely. While we didn’t eat there, the drinks and service were great, and we especially enjoyed the DJ set on the Saturday in the sun, it created a really nice atmosphere. The view from the hotel is also absolutely beautiful and cannot be faulted. However, at £244 per night, we felt the overall experience fell short of expectations. The standard of the room and service did not represent good value for money, and unfortunately, we wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family at this price.
