Exceptional hotel. Warm, cosy and authentic. Attentive and professional staff especially Ennis on reception and the restaurant manager. Quiet, spacious suites, sumptuous pillows and comfortable beds. Mountain views from every room. The 5 course meals in the evening are Michelin Guide worthy and the spotlessly clean luxurious spa is the icing on the cake. This is now one of my favourite hotels

Well, what can I say? 10/10 5* The rooms are as described, very very comfy and spacious. The staff are very helpful and attentive to your needs. Well, what can I say? 10/10 5* The rooms are as described, very very comfy and spacious. The staff are very helpful and attentive to your needs. The location (if skiing) count be better, the gondolier is approx 100 meters away. They have a gym, and a sauna and steam room, the have a ladies only sauna if you prefer, a jacuzzi and an outside pool, which is great for relaxing after a day on the slopes. If I had one personal issue it would be that the outside pool and jacuzzi could be a little warmer (but that’s my preference). I would recommend anyone to stay. Again 5* rating.

Grossarler Hof is a charming alpine retreat that combines traditional materials with modern comfort, offering guests an authentic and peaceful escape in the Austrian Alps. From the moment you arrive, the attention to detail is evident—wood, textiles, and natural touches give the hotel a cozy, upscale feel. Despite its size, the property never feels impersonal. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, with lovely views of either the river or the surrounding mountains. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms clean and functional. Thoughtful decor touches, like candles and rustic ceramics, enhance the alpine ambiance. The restaurant is a standout feature. Breakfast and dinner are consistently excellent, with high-quality ingredients and skilled preparation. Service is professional and friendly without feeling pretentious. Afternoon snacks and homemade cakes are a delightful bonus. The wellness area is cozy, clean, and relaxing, with a sauna, steam bath, whirlpool, and rest zone. However, it closes early—only until 8 PM, which feels limiting after a long day outdoors or skiing. This is one area where the hotel could definitely improve. Another downside is that the rooms do not have air conditioning. While this may be acceptable in cooler seasons, it can be uncomfortable during warm summer days or nights. The staff is welcoming and well-coordinated, creating a smooth and personal experience. The presence of the owner, who is visibly involved and caring, adds a warm touch. In summary, Grossarler Hof is ideal for couples, food lovers, or anyone looking for a tranquil and authentic alpine hotel with excellent service and style. Still, prospective guests should be aware of a couple of limitations—no air conditioning and early wellness closure—which might impact overall comfort in certain seasons.
