We have stayed here twice for the Iditarod. It is less expensive than most hotels in the area and only a two block walk to the Iditarod Ceremonial Start and two and a half blocks to Salmonberry Tours if you take their Iditarod restart tour, and five blocks to the mushers banquet. With free parking, it is easy to get to other Anchorage locations including the local Carrs store (buying your own food that you can cook in your suites also helps the budget). Furrondy occurs during the Iditarod, and you are across the street from the Carnival. The train station is just down the hill. The noise from either did not bother us at all. Rooms were clean and the suites spacious with a separate bedroom so I could let my wife sleep if I was up. This is the second time we have stayed here and plan to do it again the next time we come for the Iditarod. Just book early because it fills up quickly for that time period.

“Great location and ample size”

I could have given this place a 5 out of 5 because of its location, kitchen and size. I only gave it a 4 because there's no AC and one of the windows didn't open. It was rather warm when we checked in it 4 pm. It is an old hotel but our room felt like an apartment. We are old folks who like to walk… more

I could have given this place a 5 out of 5 because of its location, kitchen and size. I only gave it a 4 because there's no AC and one of the windows didn't open. It was rather warm when we checked in it 4 pm. It is an old hotel but our room felt like an apartment. We are old folks who like to walk. We spent one afternoon walking downtown Anchorage.
