Stayed 2 nights. Previously stayed last year and other years, returned as only the best place to stay if visiting monument valley. Check in was quick, room ready at 230pm. Reception staff very welcoming, and friendly. The reception area is large comfortable and tastfully decorated with fabulous views of monument valley. From 7am free Breakfast, sausage scrambled eggs, potatoes, waffles, muffins, yogart, cereal, apples and oranges. Tasty. Room, bed very clean, and comfortable. Bathroom was clean, shower was really powerful. Fridge, microwave, TV and safe. Cost $10 pp entry to MV and $15 to use own car to drive into valley. Free good WiFi. Would stay again definitely.

My wife and I are at odds over this hotel. I liked it with access to all the views. My wife thought it was way over-priced having to deal with a dated room and a poor restaurant. Let me explain: To even enter the Navajo owned hotel there is a kiosk down the road that charges $10 per person. This fee gains you access to the hotel and the views over Monument Valley. Then for $20 more you can self-drive on the unpaved 17-mile loop road through the valley. You can take a 2.5 hour jeep tour through the Valley for anywhere from $65 to $85 per person. We had a very low 2026 Honda Accord and did just fine. Of course, it was rented. The views are majestic. My wife felt that you could have stayed down the road—like in Mexican Hat—and explored the place for the day. We did get to see from our balcony sunset; millions of stars at night until the moon showed up; and Sunrise. Those views will forever be etched into my mind. I have included my best photos. I thought the foyer area is quite dramatic with a very large fireplace and Navajo art. The clerks, all Navajos, are friendly and efficient. There is a general store for touristy items attached to the View Hotel as well as a dinner restaurant that opens up at 17:00 The place is the breakfast area for folks staying at this hotel. For $400 dollars we did get a $20 dollars gift certificate. I had my mind on a tee-shirt. The certificate is only good for handmade Navajo crafts though. We did get to the hotel early by 11:00AM. Obviously, our room was not ready. The delay did give us time to do the loop road which is on another review. We did have a few snacks in their pantry which is open until 5:00PM. We heard pro’s and con’s about their restaurant food and decided to have a Green Chili soup for a late lunch. For $16, it was definitely not worth it. A hamburger in the restaurant would have been better, more than likely, maybe. Breakfast was crowded. The food definitely marginal. There was no decaf coffee to be had. I would not go to this hotel for breakfast. We did agree the room was clean. The bathroom was dated but doable. A large AC unit comprises half the view, and it was loud. The balcony is small, but again, doable. We took some incredible pictures. We witnessed Sunset over Monument Valley; millions of stars; and Sunrise. I first saw this hotel on a Google web site advertisement. It is the only hotel in the area. You must reserve your room well before -hand. It is well loved by some repeat guests and some don’t care how much it costs. You are in Monument Valley! “A must do- but the customer service is poor.”

Whilst this was the best day of my life (we got engaged here!) I can’t help but feel like this hotel is so let down by the staff. It’s a beautiful hotel don’t get me wrong, it’s a once in a lifetime experience and in terms of the actual place I can’t fault it. But every single staff member we interacted with was rude, very short with us and not kind or welcoming in the slightest. Such a shame, and the only reason I write this is in the hopes that management see this and put some new customer service expectations into place. If not for that, this would be the greatest hotel on earth!

Go to this hotel for the sensational views - but don’t expect quality in service, food and other aspects. This was not what we expected in a relatively expensive hotel. The standard of service was quite inconsistent and it seemed that better training was needed. Some staff members had an un helpful manner and there were problems with communication. For example our room was not cleaned when I had requested a shower cap (as per the invitation to ask for extras in the bathroom) This was translated “stock toiletries but omit room service! “ Reception had to be reminded twice that our very noisy air conditioner was faulty. To be fair, an engineer eventually arrived to replace the A/C engine. The noise was only somewhat reduced but our sleep still interrupted by the old fashioned wall unit that really should be updated. As to the food, the dinner menu was small and basic, breakfast offerings were dreadful including a thin porridge, whole apples but no sliced fruit and a couple of warm dishes in the Bain Marie’s but no eggs. All was self serve on paper plates with plastic cutlery. Unpleasant and bad for our environment. The lunch time refrigerated sandwiches ( outsourced) were almost inedible. .Being the only building for miles around, we felt a bit trapped here in terms of our meals as there were no other food outlets nearby. To sum up, we were delighted by the views, but disappointed otherwise when we had expected a high end experience for the costs of the accommodation.
