Wow! What else can I say! We chose to stay here only reading a few reviews since the new renovation. This resort is too notch! My husband and I travel a lot and love us a good deal but also a 4plus star resort. The details this resort has checked all the boxes and some. The rooms are beautiful. High end linens, meticulous landscape, great food and drinks! All new carpet smells.... The 3 pools are sparkling! There are lots of food options to choose from at their restaurant and many spa and yoga classes etc to choose from . They have free bikes to ride as well. We stayed in 301 and 211 and both were perfect. If I brought a group the larger rooms looked amazing as well.. Nespresso in the am in your rooms, and great shower products! I would say money well spent! Book though their hotel as we missed out on some good promotions. 3rd night free? Wow. Some good deals on there! Don't forget to look at packages online. The only feedback I would give us the pool bar service....they needed a few more servers for sure. They handled this as well as they could so thank u to all their hard work. If u need a drink go inside if the line is too long. I think the heat wave caught them off guard to the amount of people ordering drinks! I cannot wait to tell everyone I know about this gem! We stayed there 3 nights and then went to Mesa for work just to have our flights cancelled so back we came to the Kipton for 2 more nights! Can't wait to go back and bring friends! See you soon!

Overall we had a very nice stay at this newly updated and rebranded Kimpton hotel. There are some pros and cons, which depend on what your priorities are for a Scottsdale getaway. Location: Very close to Old Town and all the action. In addition, we were just a few blocks from the Greenway for biking. If I were here for a bachelors / bachelorette weekend or a meeting, it would be a very convenient resort. We used the complimentary bicycles and they were in very good condition, had working gears, and overall got a lot of value out of them. Do check the seat height and tire inflation before going out. We used them to do the loop south to Tempe Town Lake and they were good enough for that, though they could be a bit more comfortable. We found that at least two of the pools were good for swimming laps and we did so each day. The renovation took this dated property and added a lot of texture, desertscape, seating, trees and views. This added to the vibe of sitting around the pool, as you can see Mummy Mountain. We had breakfast each day at the restaurant, Hecho Libre. Each dish was better than the next. Steak Breakfast burrito was a favorite. The fruit plate was fresh, tasty, and generous. Now some cons: The outdoor seating at the restaurant is just weird. To make it look cool, they decorated with low seating. Unfortunately, they paired that with 'standard' height tables, and the plates were barely below my shoulders. And we are tall! You'd look around and all the women had plates below their chins. Please fix this! Get low tables? It's far more comfortable for your guests and will still look outdoorsy. The rooms: They are renovated motel style rooms. Nicely done. Single room attending a meeting? Should be fine. But a couple? There is nowhere to unpack. The wardrobe unit is narrow, so other than a few shirts and jeans on hangers, you can't unpack one person into it yet alone two. There were no other dressers or drawers. There was a single bench designed for a suitcase, but no luggage stand in our room, so the second suitcase was on the only seating area. Related to that, there is no desk, just a funky, cool looking pedestal table by the chaise, which in our case we used for our suitcase. There is no elevator. There is a full time bell desk if you need help accessing an upper level room. There was a fitness center (newly built) and a dedicated spa. There were only limited fitness classes and that was held outdoors on the lawn. As we are Elite IHG members and this location is close to our Scottsdale family, we will keep this in our plans for future visits, but not necessarily our new 'go to' resort.

The good - the property is really nice. The lobby is brand new and pristine. The food for the most part is really good. The pool is great! The good - the property is really nice. The lobby is brand new and pristine. The food for the most part is really good. The pool is great! The meh - they’re still working out the kinks and are woefully understaffed. Consistently long waits at the restaurants and bars. The one pool bar gets easily overwhelmed. The front desk staff is still learning the new process. Housekeeping was every other day daily. The rooms are freshly redone but still feel old. (New paint but they didn’t do the corners). Kids everywhere at the pool (jumping off the water fountain) - maybe designate adult only pools like other hotels ? Not the hotel’s fault but it was $30 uber to get anywhere. Maybe have a car rental desk on site ? I expect better for a Kimpton.
