Overall a very nice place. Large room with an atypical (but fine) layout. Very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was typical for hotels, but good. Staff was friendly and efficient. Good value. My only irritation was the $10 parking fee that wasn't well-disclosed on the website. It's a suburban location. Parking shouldn't be an add-on here.

This hotel is in a location that makes it very convenient to reach almost everywhere in Tempe. The hotel is next to Arizona Mills Mall and many restaurants are in the vicinity or in the neighbourhood. The hotel is conveniently designed to offer a good stay for its guests. My room was spacious and equipped with all the basic needed items. The hotel offers a free parking and there are a pool and a Jacuzzi. There is a self-service laundry room under the disposal of the hotel guests. “Lack confidence to return”

Got a room for this place blindly via Hotwire. Would not most likely return. POSITIVES: Room was spacious & clean. Appreciated free cookies at front desk. NEGATIVES: Front desk was disorganized & didn't seem to want to check us in. Showers lacked heat or pressure. Coffee was unavailable & toaster was broken at breakfast. Overheard other guest claim bed bugs as we were leaving.

On the whole, I had a bit of a mixed experience at this hotel, but I would give it another chance. It started with the booking, and this was more on me than the hotel. I looked at the room rate early in the week, and it was listed at $269/night. When I booked a few days later, the rate jumped to $293/night. Again, I should have booked earlier, but I found the rate change interesting. There's plenty of free parking at the hotel, and check-in was a breeze with two really friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff members (I asked for dinner and shopping recommendations). One of two elevators to take me to the third floor was out of commission. The room was much larger than I expected and spotless. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there were plenty of outlets/USB ports to charge devices. I took advantage of the mini-refrigerator to store some drinks. The only in-room issue that I had was that the air conditioning unit compressor was really loud when it was running. If you're a light sleeper, that may be an issue. The included breakfast was your standard HIE fare: biscuits and gravy; scrambled eggs; sausage; fruit; yogurt; DIY pancakes; etc. I was able to take the one working elevator down to breakfast but, by the time I was done, it, too, was out of commission, and everyone had to take the stairs back to their rooms. One thing that's out of the ability of the hotel to control was the loud exhaust noise of presumably young guys in their cars cruising back and forth on Baseline Road on a Friday night. That lasted until 11 p.m. or so. I don't know that it was the best value for my money, but it was one of the less expensive hotels that I could find on the opening weekend of MLB Spring Training in the area. If I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars.
