I stayed with my friend and my daughter. Loved seeing both parts of the Inn. My friend was in Tipperary, in the back house, and my daughter and I had Belfast, in the front house. We thoroughly enjoyed the courtyard with our freshly baked cookies! My daughter fell in love with the non-resident cat, Nana! Our rooms were delightful, easy to access, with wonderful amenities. Communication via text was easy - I was answered instantly when I asked where the ice machine was located. Breakfast was delightful- delivered right to our door and so yummy! Would certainly stay here again! All-in- all a wonderful value for a lovely stay.

“We Will Come Back!”

We loved the J. Patrick Inn. We stayed upstairs in the Limerick room. It was very cozy, decorated uniquely, wood walls and ceiling, with a fireplace. It was also very quiet (great insulation!) We loved the J. Patrick Inn. We stayed upstairs in the Limerick room. It was very cozy, decorated uniquely, wood walls and ceiling, with a fireplace. It was also very quiet (great insulation!) The shower was wonderful. Took a second to figure out how the hot and cold worked, but we got that figured out. The room was well stocked with coffee, creamers, tea, and even fresh cold water in the refrigerator, waiting for us. Loved the drop leaf table. We only put it up for breakfast. Breakfast was brought to our room each morning in a basket left at the door. They usually knock, but once didn’t. Be sure to check! It was like a picnic breakfast in a brown box— quiche, yogurt with fruit, orange juice, a muffin, and four sausages. The first day was great… although a little cold. The second day was exactly the same, and we thought it would’ve been nice to have some variety. So we canceled the third day but they brought it anyway. Lol. The third day was exactly the same as the second and the first. We did mention it to the owner in an email, and they said they would review their breakfast offering— our thought was especially for people who stay multiple days like we do. The seating areas inside and outside were very sweet. Nice place to relax in the rocking chair on the front deck and just read a good book. We enjoyed coming in at any hour and finding fresh baked cookies downstairs. This is a no-contact place. All communication was done by text but they were very responsive. The only human we saw was the housekeeper. The cat however, is an amazing host. Her name is Nana and she often waited for us in the morning on the hood of our car — so we got to pet her and she loved us back. This place does not have a pool or a hot tub which we always enjoy…but they offer full access (at no extra cost) to the Cambria Pines Lodge across the street and we used the hot tub two afternoons. We had dinner at the Pines on the patio one night — in a rock surrounded enclosure next to a lovely fire. (January). The lounge at the pines had a big screen for football, and the next two nights, live music. It was really nice. The food was fantastic. (Jay Patrick offers a package for dinners at the lodge. Well worth it. Included is a bottle of wine.) There’s so much to do around here. Go see the sea lions gathering on the beach during mating and birthing season; Hearst Castle was a great tour; lots of places to walk on the boardwalk. Cambria downtown was lovely with several coffee shops. Finally, we found Robin’s restaurant and would highly recommend it. Very unusual atmosphere with great food and service. We would have left five stars if the breakfast had been more varied and warm. (FYI, we did figure out that there was a microwave downstairs in the common area. We could’ve heated them up.) Yes, we would definitely come back.

“Not what I booked !”

Could have been 5 blobs, however I didn’t get what I paid for . On Booking.com , the room that I paid for had Whirlpool bath, fireplace and chocolate. The room I received had non of these things … However the worst thing was that the bathroom for our room was in adjacent room on a hallway with anot… more

Could have been 5 blobs, however I didn’t get what I paid for . On Booking.com , the room that I paid for had Whirlpool bath, fireplace and chocolate. The room I received had non of these things … However the worst thing was that the bathroom for our room was in adjacent room on a hallway with another occupied room .. not ideal and not my idea of an en-suite This should be made clear in room descriptions. The room itself was lovely , high quality bedding, comfortable beds but I just feel let down

We stayed three nights in this clean, orderly, and well-appointed inn and were comfortable throughout our visit. The property is clearly well maintained, and we enjoyed a few pleasant interactions with fellow guests and a member of the housekeeping staff. One aspect that felt a bit surprising, given the inn’s historic character and small-town setting, was the absence of any in-person welcome or interaction with staff. All communication was handled via email and text messages, which were frequent and efficient, but we missed the personal touch that we’ve come to associate with small historic inns and that we’ve experienced at many hosted properties over the years. Breakfast was included and delivered in a picnic basket on the first morning. Unfortunately, the selections were not to our taste. We let the staff know via text (the only available means of communication), and while they acknowledged the message, there was no follow-up to ask whether alternative options might be preferred, nor was any adjustment offered for opting out of breakfast for the remainder of our stay.
