Our room had views of the ocean, a huge super king super comfy bed, choice of pillows, aircon, powerful spacious shower with large bottles of shower gel and shampoo, twin basins, two backlit heated mirrors, hair dryer, iron & board, room safe, big fridge, coffee machine (with extra supplies available 24/7 in the foyer), microwave, cable TV with 70+ channels, HDMI inputs for streaming sticks and laptops, fast free wifi, windows that open, power and USB sockets aplenty, loads of hanging space, room serviced daily, wonderful engaging staff in all departments, an extremely generous complimentary breakfast choice, great location around a 1 mile stroll from both Hermosa and Redondo pier, under 10 minutes walk to the beach, a large supermarket and other amenities right across the road... Photos on their website don’t do the hotel justice - the rooms are far more spacious, bright and airy than they appear in the pics. I really can’t think of anything wrong with this place. It’s the perfect hotel.

“Pleasant stay; difficult access if coming from the South.”

We visit the Redondo Beach area a couple of times per year to visit relatives, and this has become our preferred hotel. It is standard Holiday Inn Express stuff; we choose the larger room with a sitting area. With a King bed, the sitting area is quite spacious. We like that they provide a small table and two chairs, so we can eat or play Scrabble together. Many rooms have only one chair. Our friend stayed in a double-queen room, and while the room was the same size, there was no sitting area because the second bed takes up all the room. Breakfast was good; I'm particularly fond of the Holiday Inn Express cinnamon rolls. There were also eggs, breakfast meat, cereal, yogurt, and more. The lobby has a coffee maker that grinds the beans fresh for each cup, and includes a decaf option; that is a step above most hotel coffee. One negative is access if you are coming from the South. The hotel entrance is only accessible from the North; no left turn if you are coming from the South. We learned to do a U-turn at the next corner, which is challenging on Pacific Coast Highway (and prohibited from 3 PM to 7 PM). The only alternative is to turn at the NEXT street, and cut through the drug store parking lot to get back to access the hotel from the South. You can't just "go around the block" because the adjacent streets don't go through. If you come and go a lot, this access challenge could be a big problem. I received a couple of packages while staying, and they notified me right away on the room phone. Pickup was a breeze. I think it is unfortunate that they don't allow you to use the breakfast area as a meeting place or eating space after breakfast. We were there with elderly relatives, and wanted to bring in a take-out dinner and have a quiet space for five of us to eat. That was not allowed. This remains our first choice in the area for a comfortable room, good breakfast, reasonable value, and convenient location to our relatives.

“Fine Base of Operations Near Redondo Beach”

In town for family visits, this hotel was bright, airy, clean , comfortable, quiet, and alll around perfect for our needs. The breakfasts are the usual all you can eat that you find in Holiday Inn Expresses, but better of its kind.
