“Great value”

Clean quiet rooms, Friendly staff. A bit dated and some rooms were in need of minor repair but overall a good value. With limited option in the area and the others either being overbooked or overpriced, it was a nice surprise to stumble across this place.

This is a budget accomodation option that I have used more than once on the way from SFO airport to Yosemite National Park. You can certainly make that drive in 4 hours or so but after a transatlantic flight you will likely be delayed getting out of San Francisco's eternal rush hour and negotiating the freeways as darkness and exhaustion sets in is not fun. Better to stay a night in Manteca, about halfway on Hw120. Next morning,refreshed, you can stock up on trail provisions and hiking equipment for your trip. All the required outlets are within a few minutes drive; Walmarts, Safeway, Big 5 Sporting etc The Travellers Inn is ideally situated on Yosemite Ave without any noisy road intersections nearby. Sure it looks a little tired and spartan from the kerbside but the reception and check-in was prompt and friendly. My room was quite large with plenty of space for the large and comfy king bed, presses, drawers, lights, armchair, table, luggage, microwave and fridge. There is a separate space for the loo, basin and shower cubicle. Water pressure was a little lower than I remembered but it was hot and there was plenty of it. There is a very well kitted out restaurant and a sort of sports bar adjoining the motel; Cabana del Sol. Food was fine in that griddle chef way that you find all over the USA. There was a plentiful array of local beers and imported drinks at the bar at reasonable rates. The service was attentive and friendly. Very handy that you dont need to drive anywhere. Patrons of the motel get a 15% discount. It's not the Ritz but I felt that the people running this place are doing a pretty good job. My night was comfortable, quiet and enjoyable for a total price of $70. On the return leg of my trip I stayed at the Best Western Executive Inn & Suites costing twice as much and really didn't think the extra was worth it. In fact the noisy freeway interchange was a real nuisance, the bath wouldn't drain properly and the area adjoining was a little downmarket. My recommendation; try the Travellers Inn
