“Wonderful inn!”

We had a great stay at this beautiful inn. The inn is in a perfect location, only a few short blocks from Monterey Bay. Many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Staff were helpful and friendly, the room (Laporte) was quiet, comfortable, and had an attractive, private outdoor seating area. The provided breakfasts were wonderful, as was the evening wine and cheese reception. Street parking in front of the inn was always available. The complimentary bicycle was in great shape with the gears and brakes working smoothly. We would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to be able to revisit this spectacularly beautiful area.

Excellent, we are repeat visitors because there are so many pros to this lovely inn, but with all of the glowing reviews, I will give you just the (very) few cons. Be prepared for tiny rooms and not so nice bathrooms. There are larger rooms for higher prices, of course, but they sell out pretty quickly because the other rooms are tiny. And I do mean tiny. The smallest of anywhere I have ever stayed other than in Japan. And the bathrooms are, well, let’s say, not pleasant to be in. Very 80’s. Old grout that is no longer clean. Shower heads are pretty bad. We rush in and out as quickly as possible. But even the tiny rooms are pleasant. I just wouldn’t want to be stuck in one if, god forbid, it rained a lot during our visit. Also, there is one room near the kitchen that is very noisy in the early morning as they prepare their (delicious) breakfast, so do make sure you inquire about your room location unless you are a very early riser. It’s odd, though, We stay at many of the Four Sisters hotels and have found that almost all of their bathrooms are lacking. The one in our daughter’s college town had old, dirty tile surrounding the fiberglass soaking tub in our room, and the tub itself was full of strange orange/brown spots on the bottom and a much larger one near where your head would lie. Not sure what that was, but they shouldn’t be there in an otherwise very nice establishment. I do hope they will consider upgrading their bathrooms just a little bit to better fit with the quality of their lovely hotels. We still highly recommend, though! establishments.
