This hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at: great location on the water (incredible bay views watching the otters), very attentive service everywhere (at check-in, in the restaurant, for valet parking, in the gym), impeccably clean and well-appointed rooms with very comfortable beds, a convenient and clean pool, and fully equipped gym with plenty of (working) exercise machines and free weights. The restaurant food is also first class. There is nothing that I can think of that could be done better!

This hotel is on an outrageously gorgeous location and poses an immediately luxurious experience from the moment you arrive. The use of live plants throughout the lobby paired with a spectacular view of Monterey Bay really sends you into a state of immediate comfort. The room itself was a king suite with a balcony and it was everything as described and more. The balcony is nearly as big as the room itself (not including the spectacular bathroom) and offers a quiet view of a neighborhood walkway under the shade of trees. Our room happened to also be just around the corner from the gym and heated pool + hottub, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed during our stay as they were clean and fresh places. The restaurant on site was our breakfast location and blew our mind with deliciously massive servings of waffles, potatoes, and fruits. This was a perfect meal just before our trip the fantastic Monterey Aquarium next next door, which I have to recommend for first timers.

“Terrible Customer Service”

This hotel has a VERY nice location. It is clean and bright with all of the amenities. I love the "lodge" feel of the lounge area. There are games that young adults or older children can play built into the tables or you can sit and watch the ocean on the outdoor patio. The room was fairly clean although, I did find a hair rubberband next to the bed which is off putting. The plugs and charger ports did not work next to the beds, and there were not enough towels for the 4 of us. The bathrooms have very dim lighting so prepare to be confused on that. We had that door that tells me we were in a connecting room. The neighbors fought ALL night!!! The fighting did not stop until after 2am. I did call and report this TWICE...as they were slamming doors and we could hear the lady crying and the man yelling. It did not stop. I never saw or heard anyone come by and I was looking! We ate downstairs at the restaurant which was tasty and had good service. The hostess was nice/helpful....only downfall is that our waitress was chewing bubblegum!! IMO this is not acceptable in any food establishment. The hotel put a hold on my credit card because I booked at last minute but then they charged me in full for the time we stayed. When booking, we were driving and there was a dead spot and the hotel booked twice for the same night. I was told that I would lose $700.00 if I were to cancel one of the rooms. I tried to explain that I did not book it twice that it was a glitch. I had double charges for everything. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they were VERY rude about it. It took a month....ONE MONTH to get the funds reversed and back on my credit card. After, I booked a room for Junes stay. I tried to cancel that stay in May literally a couple days after booking it and was told that I could not cancel because it was already past the date of cancelation, which was February 1. If I booked the room in May, how am I supposed to cancel by February of the same year?!!! Needless to say....The customer service is TERRIBLE. They dont speak English well and they do not understand the issues when I explained it to them. They just kept saying, "Mmm hmm" and "ok" but did not actually help me in that situation. We will be staying in June, I hope the stay is nice and not like before.
