Superior service by all employees. The Marine Corps memorabilia throughout the hotel made this Marine feel very much at home. The food was well prepared and served, the room and valet service were top notch, and the value was great, especially for San Francisco. The hotel is close to many cultural sites, including Chinatown. The Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel is our go to lodging destination when in the Bay Area.

My first impressions were that the hotel was a little dated but I soon realised it is just quirky. It’s an old fashioned building wide corridors and high ceilings and lots of military memorabilia but actually it’s quite comfortable, spotlessly clean and all the quirky extras elevate it to one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in many years. Firstly, breakfast included. A good spread and a major bonus for a city hotel. Happy hour is super happy ie free!!! Sat and had a couple of free beers and watched the World Cup matches, amazing! Two laundry rooms with driers and complimentary detergent. Not used but a free gym and swimming pool both looked good. And lastly again not used but lots of complimentary bits and bobs at the front desk, razors, toothbrushes, etc. very old school but lovely touch. Location was also great. Very centrally located and close to transport hubs. Good selection of restaurants, shops and bars in very close proximity. Front desk staff amazing, bar staff great, restaurant staff either lovely or grumpy with nothing in between. As a European the lovely ones got tipped and the grumpy ones didn’t!

“Epic 80th Birthday at Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel!!!”

We (and 34 of our family and friends) stayed at the hotel to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday with a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and a dinner in the Crystal Lounge on the 11th floor.… more

My, oh my!!! We had such an incredibly good time at the Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel last weekend!!! We (and 34 of our family and friends) stayed at the hotel to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday with a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and a dinner in the Crystal Lounge on the 11th floor. The assistance from staff in planning the event months in advance was outstanding: room availability, bus transportation to the bridge, flowers for the dinner, menu selection, birthday cake, table linens, even recommending that we get a suite to facilitate private gatherings. Our guests enjoyed their accommodations, loved the living history surrounding them, and totally took advantage of Happy Hour and Breakfast at Chesty's Bar and Grill on the 12th floor, as well as several enjoying the swimming pool. There were several dining room choices in the hotel for holding the Birthday Dinner, but the Crystal Lounge was perfect for us! On entering the room for dinner, I gasped because the room was so beautifully set up! The pre-dinner gathering area and the dining area were set apart and each looked gorgeous. The appetizer platters were so decorative and delicious: fresh fruit, Mediterranean delights, and charcuterie! The entrees were beautifully plated ( Filet Mignon, Grilled Salmon, and Grilled Portobello Mushroom) and everyone delighted in their meals. The birthday cake was beautiful and had that not-too-sweet perfection!!! The servers were very efficient and friendly. The bartender did a great job at keeping the glasses filled and the spirits flowing. I really felt pampered. Comments from our guests were entirely complimentary regarding the decor, the appetizers, the bar and bartender, the dinner and the cake. The evening exceeded all our expectations. The service team was fantastic and all our guests enjoyed themselves immensely! I could go on and on about the wonderful experience we had with the Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel, both the facility and the staff. We are so glad that we chose them!!!

“Fantastic Hotel - Stay Here!”

I can't praise this hotel enough. The room was nice - relatively big, with a fridge and a Keurig. Toiletries and bathrobes were provided. I can't praise this hotel enough. The room was nice - relatively big, with a fridge and a Keurig. Toiletries and bathrobes were provided. Breakfast had many options - eggs, bacon, vegetables, potatoes, oatmeal, cereal, pastries, etc. They have a happy hour every day with 2 free drinks and an amazing view of the city from the 12th floor. The location is great - 3 or 4 blocks from Union Square, which is a stop for the Hop On Hop Off buses. There are several good restaurants within 1 block of the hotel. I couldn't believe how reasonable the price was. I would have expected it to be at least $75 more a night than it was. It's nice knowing the profits go to a good cause. If you are going to San Francisco, I highly recommend staying here.
