“Convenient and Clean”

I love this location. Walk to the boardwalk and downtown Santa Cruz. The staff was friendly and helpful. Though it is not a new upscale hotel the place is comfortable with lots of parking. I liked the price point too!

Actually, I used to go to this place when it was the Pacific Inn. I can safely say here that the place has been updated and refreshed along with the new name. Walking distance to the boardwalk and there's a 7-11 across the way to pick up munchies or drinks. The room was spacious and the bed was really nice. Not much in the way of noise. We asked for more coffee and towels and were given both with a smile. The one thing that really needs attention is the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was not up to scratch. Rather weak. The other thing was that the walk in shower while rather large, had a grossly inadequate shower curtain. It stopped a good 10 inches fom the edge of the shower and with each use the floor got really wet. No bueno. You can guess why we asked for more towels.

Good location within walking distance to downtown and the boardwalk. Room was properly cleaned. I didn't notice any excessive noise during my stay, but keep in mind that it has a pool and therefore noisy kids are to be expected. Internet speed was adequate and I was able to stream my favorite shows just fine. Areas of Improvement: Rooms are rather tightly sized. They look fine on first impression, but continuously give off a hint of poor quality/design. The desk placement in my room was blocking the power outlets, so I had to move the desk away from the wall which was then protruding into the hallway more than before. It's clear that the furniture wasn't purchased with that room in mind and done more generally so. The shower head sprayed in all kinds of directions and needs to be replaced. One of the fridge's trays wasn't holding anything securely anymore. The bathroom fan's bearing is likely pretty gone, because it's very, very loud and should be replaced. Parking is super tight. The shower was in need of grout replacement and does not look inviting. Sticker residue on the window. Due to the small size of the room and poor ventilation, it felt rather stuffy in there and that was just me alone in the room. It's a decent hotel otherwise, honestly. But I'd recommend that management addresses some of the negatives I mentioned. Some of those fixes are fairly cheap.
