Our family of 4 stayed here and had a great experience. We called to ask for early check in and that was no problem (checked in 3 hours early). Our room was on the first floor up a small flight of stairs from the lobby, definitely basic, no frills but clean, safe feeling and perfect for us. There's a small fridge, microwave and coffee machine with a variety of pods ( in total), non diary powder creamer and sugar. That afternoon we came back to free snacks and drinks that we collected with the dining room and brought up to our room, there were many people eating, drinking and socializing downstairs. Snacks were basic, popcorn, warm corn chips with cheese sauce, packets of chips, 3 types of wine, 3 of beer and 3 of soda. We were very impressed that a small, affordable hotel would offer free extras like this in any fashion. We received a breakfast voucher each when we checked in. The breakfast starts at 7am and it's great! Coffee (including decaf option), toast, bagels, cereal, juice, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, fresh fruit, yoghurt and....burritos on request! The tv worked great, no issues at all, spot to plug in a Roku, free wifi, wall AC unit that worked awesome. Also it's so central, you can leave your car and walk all over Ventura, including the pier, beach and many great restaurants. There's also a big park across the road for the kids. Parking was easy, there's under and above ground parking that was free, we received the parking pass to put on the dash when we checked in.

“Excellent value in an expensive beach market”

My expectations were exceeded. Our good experience started with helpful and friendly front desk staff. The lobby was clean and attractive. We were offered fruit and coffee while we waited. Our single king room was clean and spacious. There was a coffeemaker, fridge and microwave. The balcony is small but it lets in fresh air. We walked from the train station in about 15 minutes. The property is also within easy walking distance of downtown shopping and dining, and a pedestrian path across the freeway to the beach. There’s a cooked breakfast and complimentary evening reception. Ask for a room on the mountain side if you don’t want to hear freeway noise. Great value for the money.
