I’ve stayed at this hotel twice before with my husband and dog as a convenient stop while traveling north. On those visits, the rooms were modern, clean, and a great value for the location, which is why I chose to stay here again. Unfortunately, this visit felt more like the Motel 6 reputation of years past. I accidentally selected an accessible room, and it was noticeably more worn and outdated than my previous accommodations. The bathroom was in need of cosmetic repairs, and the bathtub—an odd choice for an accessible room—had several issues, including chips in the tub, rust on the faucet, and a missing drain plug. The shelf above the sink was tilted downward, making it difficult to use, and the wardrobe unit was missing a shelf, limiting its functionality to hanging clothes only. The customer service was also disappointing. At check-in, the staff seemed indifferent rather than welcoming, and I was not provided with the Wi-Fi information. I chose not to return to the front desk to ask, especially since the phone in my room was not working. Later, I did need assistance with the TV because the channels would not change with the remote. When I called, I was told to enter “10” to access the channel guide—something that was not explained anywhere in the room. The interaction was brief but not particularly friendly or helpful. That said, this was only an overnight stay, and the hotel served its primary purpose. I felt safe, and the location is excellent—just a short drive, walk, or jog from the beach. For that reason, I would rate the experience as average overall. However, given the condition of the room and the lackluster customer service, I’m not sure I would choose to stay here again.
