“Great get away”

Awesome location and friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Close to local restaurants for several dinner options and shopping. Daily beach chairs with umbrellas and compliments boogey boards for my teens to play in the surf was a nice added touch. We will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic stay at Dune House & Spa and would absolutely come back! What stood out most was how genuinely friendly, welcoming, and helpful everyone was. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and their kindness made the entire stay feel even more special. The property was also extremely clean and well cared for. The rooms, pool area, beach, and shared spaces all felt fresh, comfortable, and inviting. We really appreciated how easy it was to enjoy the beach since towels, chairs, and an umbrella were included with the resort fee. The location could not have been better. Shops and restaurants were all very close and easily walkable, which made it simple to explore the area without needing to drive everywhere. The renovations are beautiful, although some of the room space could be used more efficiently. There were not many places to hang towels or clothing, and every room would benefit from having at least one chair. Overall, we loved our stay. The wonderful staff, spotless property, convenient location, and easy beach access made it such an enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back!

Since I rely heavily on hotel reviews before booking, I'm going to make this long and detailed. I hope it helps you when choosing where to stay. Construction: Prior to booking Dune House I read recent reviews which included one from this month regarding hotel construction. I checked the official website to see a small blue banner at the top which you might easily ignore. It goes to a page devoted to their 'story'. It does NOT include specifics as to the current construction status other than saying the rooms have been 'refreshed'. Experience: We checked in for three nights over a weekend The landscaping in front of the hotel has been pulled and not re-landscaped yet. We were greeted by two very friendly valet's who helped with luggage. Upon entering the lobby it was a bit confusing since there were construction workers and no sign of a check in desk. You'll see several seating areas with a very large staircase. Someone had to tell us to walk upstairs to a temporary check in. The women at the desk were welcoming and helpful and directed us to an elevator to find our room. I noticed old, tattered curtains hanging on the walls while walking to the elevator. I instantly wondered what the condition of the rooms would be. Also, when the elevator opened, the inside was very old and worn. There is a large space near the elevators where the new check in area will be. It seems strange not to have it on the main floor and to require guests to go up, then walk a long hallway to check in. Just my opinion. Very odd set up. The room: Exiting the elevator on the 4th floor we immediately noticed the carpeting was very dirty. Hopefully it will be cleaned or replaced in the future. According to the website, the rooms have been 'refreshed' by a designer named Islyn Studio. Upon entering it was obvious the room had a new coat of paint. The valet walked our luggage in and my sister instantly hit her shin on the corner of the platform bed. The valet said, 'Be careful. We've had injuries." I'll bet! They put mattresses on top of large wood platforms that stick out into the small space. There's almost no way to avoid these corners. They added worthless clear plastic 'bumpers' I guess since so many people hit them. Needless to say my sister hit them three more times. The room decor seemed to be knew but I wasn't sure. The large stone balls for drawer pulls felt weird, the useless bar cabinet takes up needed space and the natural fiber area rugs under the beds looked old and dirty. The small bathroom only had one vanity with one sink and looks dated. The shower tile is dark, dated and has no door but was overall very clean. There was a much needed vanity outside the bathroom but lightening is poor. The AC worked great. Nice and cold. Experiences: We utilized the beach chairs and umbrella's. Every staff person we encountered was friendly and helpful. They had drink and food service on the beach. The food was priced as expected, generous and very good. The small pool area has new lounge beds and umbrella's and there was a temporary small bar for ordering drinks. Cocktails avg. $15. The mandatory valet is $35/day and resort fee is $30/day. Also there is a beautifully decorated restaurant hidden on the main floor which we did not go to.
