The hotel as a whole could use a lot of training from David’s team

This resort was as advertised! They get everything right: Service, food, hospitality, drinks, pool, activities, etc!

This was our third trip to the Henderson. Our first visit was about 6 years ago. We have loved the resort, hence going back for the third time. This time was a slight disappointment. This was our first trip over spring break, we typically go in early summer. The service has really gone down, I’m not sure if some of the staff has been moved to the new condos that were developed a couple years back. For it being spring break, it wasn’t as crowded as the summer time when we have gone in the past. There was only one bartender at the outdoor pool the whole trip and we only saw 1-2 servers bringing food out to people. Both times we ordered food by the pool, we had to go up to the bar and see where our food was because it was taking so long. The restaurants have really good food still for the most part but the Primose restaurant for breakfast was a disaster. Only 2 servers and they were helped by many people getting the buffet. We had to get up and find our waiter in order to get more coffee, to get our check, etc. You can tell they were really understaffed. The other annoyance is the extra fees such as charging you to park your own car, only $10 more to get valet. $40 for valet and $30 to park your own car. We paid extra to get beach chairs and umbrella, they said only $45. We then saw on our bill an extra $9 for a service fee. They should tell you it’s $54 then..they never tell you about the service fee! Lots of hidden prices. They also should let guests know when music is playing on the roof top bar or when outdoor movies by the pool are playing. On a Saturday night over spring break there was a movie by the outdoor pool with only one family sitting out there. We didn’t even know it was playing, just happened to go outside. No mention to guests. Overall we still enjoy the resort but will most likely check out another resort next time in the area. We enjoyed the roof top bar and the pool is always relaxing and fun. The scent of the hotel upon entering the lobby is just wonderful! The lobby is also super relaxing with nice seating options outside on their outdoor deck.
