Ella’s Cottages is a perfect oasis right in the heart of old town Key West. The location is 10/10, you couldn’t be any closer to the action! The rooms are all in separate buildings, and they are designed beautifully to fit in with the local design and architecture. The rooms are in need of quite a bit of TLC in places and were clearly decorated in a rush, judging by the amount of plaint splattered on the floor in our room. The complimentary breakfast is a real treat and there’s plenty of delicious healthy food options as well as pastries and juices. There’s also a daily happy hour with complimentary canned cocktails in the small bar area. The lady at reception was really helpful throughout our entire stay, she went above and beyond to make our stay flawless. Parking around the back of the property is easily accessible and, although expensive, fairly well priced considering the very central location in the city. We will absolutely be staying again, thank you for a perfect few days in Key West!

This is a quaint inn with a great location. Rooms are small and tidy. Pool is a plunge pool. Morning breakfast includes a bagel, a croissant, Chobani yogurt, 2 small canned OJ's, and an apple. Happy hour is served in the common area and includes Twisted Tea. There is an additional resort fee and $30 daily parking fee. That all said, the employees we met were great.

The place was small but was expected with it being a historical inn. It was clean and staff was friendly. We had free breakfast brought to our room every morning. The pool was small, clean and the water was cold but was refreshing to cool off in. For a last minute get away, it was perfect and perfectly located that we were able to walk everywhere- 1/4- 3/4 mile walk, great exercise.

“OK at best”

The location is great, just close enough to it all but not on top of the strip. The atmosphere is quiet and quaint. The room was extremely small for the price. The location is great, just close enough to it all but not on top of the strip. The atmosphere is quiet and quaint. The room was extremely small for the price. I literally ran into the TV on the wall more than once because the walkway is less than 2 feet. My husband is 6'2; his knees touched the bathroom wall. The room had a musty odor...I realize it's hard in tropical climates to keep moisture out, but we have stayed in the Keys for years at other locations with no problem. The mosquitoes in the room were a problem. I'm assuming that the moisture odor potentially contributes to the mosquito problem Lastly, the service was not what I would consider appropriate for the level of hotel and pricing of the cottages. Short staffing and poor communication were a concern.
