Previous reviews made me wary, but my stay with two teenagers was great! I am writing a comprehensive review to share the many pluses and few administrative minuses. This is not exactly a hotel. It’s many different companies ( including Churchill suites) renting out suites under the umbrella of the property managers at Monte Carlo. Loved the views - bayfront with partial ocean view was incredible vista, quiet balcony in the sky. Beach was gorgeous and chairs/umbrellas stress-free - no sense of competition for space. Two pool areas - one in a private garden near the beach. One on the fifth floor with a view of beach and large infinity hot tub. The pools were clean and unchaotic. Mostly families and couples though the vibe was quiet and respectful. We had everything we needed in the room - full kitchen with the basic equipment. Going to the Publix four blocks away meant we could have eaten all our meals at home if we wanted. We used the washer dryer with soap provided. Towels and blankets were not luxury, but functioned fine. King bed very comfortable. Sofabed was a little saggy and lumpy but I slept fine. Might be less comfortable with two in the sofa bed. The bathroom had toiletries provided, like a hotel. We rented citibikes, walked to nearby restaurants, explored Miami Beach. Took the city bus and the shuttle. Great location for all of this. My experience dealing with Churchill suites before the stay made me nervous that it was going to be a sketchy unreliable situation when we arrived. (Checkin was easy and smooth, even arriving at 2am after a delayed flight). After clicking book it on the website, I received no onscreen confirmation and no email confirmation. I could see that my credit card was charged however. Subsequent calls to customer service seemed disorganized - initially they had the wrong room type, and at one point the invoice quoted a $99 cleaning fee which then changed to $179 when they corrected the room type. (There is no room cleaning while you are there, so the fee is for the post-stay cleaning). The final confirm email still had the incorrect room type on it. However, it all worked out - and the vibe of other guests in the lobby, beach, pool wasn’t a dissatisfied or scammed vibe. People seemed relaxed and focused on their leisure, as we got to also do!
