Although it was rainy om Sunday, windy and maybe a bit cold, any day at the beach is a great day. Kudos to Shawn, Beth, Jennifer, Kristina and John at the Barefoot Bar - great service, great personalities and in spite of being very busy - kept a smile. Muhamad and Mustafa - outstanding service, thank you. Also, kudos to Tiffany and the chair set up crew - great work in spite of the weather. You were timely, helpful and always greeted us with a smile.

“Hotel could use a REALLY deep clean!”

The Destin Florida area is a beautiful opportunity to see white sandy beaches, blue water, and perfect weather without leaving the US. The Destin Florida area is a beautiful opportunity to see white sandy beaches, blue water, and perfect weather without leaving the US. The Hilton Sandestin is centrally located to the outlets and main attractions. With that being said, my expectations are high for a Hilton property unfortunately, this property disappoints this time around. To jump right in, we've stayed here 3 times and this was probably the worst stay we've had. Not because of staff; the property, although newly renovated, does not appear to be well maintained. It felt like a budget motel and not a Hilton. Dirt and grime is everywhere, which is surprising as I figured the hotel would be preparing/cleaning for busy season. The room, was located near the elevator and could be loud at times with the laughter of kids or people heading out for the day, which didn't bother us. When we arrived on Saturday April 11, 2026, the bottom bunk was damp and had an unidentified smelly substance on the mattress that had to be removed by maintenance staff. They were very kind, but knocked a hole in the wall retrieving the unidentified substance on the bunk bed. The baseboards in the room appeared to be covered in dust. So much so, that I wiped them down with a Lysol wipe to help as we have allergies to dust. Hair (that wasn't ours) was located in various spaces within the room and on some towels. The beds were lumpy and sagged on both sides, which made for a very uncomfortable sleep. We were told that the mattress would be replaced, but it never happened. Shotty construction work made the shower appear dirty, even after I cleaned it. Housekeeping staff was friendly (Stephainie) and stopped by at around 9 AM each morning. She provided towels, took out trash, and made the bed on days that we didn't have the privacy placard on the door. The last night of our stay, a giant water bug came from what I think was the vent, but honestly could have been due to our balcony door being opened at various times throughout the day. We would possibly stay here again, but I would definitely have to bring my own cleaning supplies to feel comfortable. (Broom, mop, duster, etc)...and I would have to have a non sagging mattress.

Honestly, this hotel was average at best and definitely not worth the price or resort fees. Honestly, this hotel was average at best and definitely not worth the price or resort fees. The room and bathroom felt very dated, and the “beach view” we booked ended up mostly overlooking the pool with only a partial glimpse of the ocean. Not what we expected. Housekeeping was incredibly disappointing. Our room wasn’t cleaned until around 4 PM, and even then it was barely touched. Towels weren’t replaced, and overall it felt sloppy. To make matters worse, the bathroom didn’t look very clean when we first arrived. The food situation didn’t help either. The restaurant was subpar and the service was slow and inattentive. The buffet especially was not worth the $30/person at all. The outdoor pools were another letdown. They weren’t heated, even though they have the ability to do so, which made it pretty miserable for the kids. Overall, between the condition of the room, poor service, and lack of value, this place just didn’t deliver. Would not stay here again.
